Thought I'd share on my second visit to see if it had improved since I was there a few years back and can't say that it has.

Hard to review local business negatively but just being honest and trying to provide constructive feedback.

Arrived after tough climb up Slieve Martin. Was ready to order when informed that 4G was down and we could only pay in cash which we had around £7.

Seen sausage roll at £6:90 and thought must be a deal or part of bigger meal, no we get 1 sausage roll and some salad or chips. Couldn't believe it for that price point that you could be charged so much for so little but we decided on two coffees instead so ordered a cappuccino and a mocha which came to around £6+.

These are London prices and I was expecting great coffee but sadly this was not to be. The mocha was full of foam and no actual substance, I actually watched as the staff member making it got confused and then tried to figure out how to make a mocha giving them the benefit of the doubt. Result - tasted like a flat white which is exactly what my wife got also. Actually watching the staff member making it and then hoping the customer won't complain/notice sends the wrong message.

Mate got the fry but complained afterwards that it took too long to arrive 15+ minutes in a relatively quiet time and the sausage and bacon where cold.

You want to support local business but the price point is way off. Yes I imagine the rent is high but so is the foot traffic but charging London prices in rural Northern Ireland is the wrong strategy.

Good, hearty food sourced from local businesses would save you and the customer money in the long run.

Train the staff thoroughly and make sure they know by watching them complete the task that they know how to prepare something as this will keep staff turnover low.

Want to give a positive but sadly I...

We decided to go to Synge and Byrne, as we had been to one of their coffee vans in Tollymore park and enjoyed the coffee very much. We had also read great reviews online. So here is our food experience: I ordered a veggie wrap with fries and my husband ordered the vegan roll (chickpea and sweet potato) with a coleslaw salad and red cabbage salad. Unfortunately they both disappointed. At first glance my veggie wrap was very small but once I took a bite I was happy for the small portion. The 'roast veg' were anything but roasted, i got soggy auburgine and red onion thrown into a wrap. There was absolutely no flavour to it, even a bit of pesto on the wrap or some herbs on the veg would have gone a long way. My husband's vegan roll was underwhelming, bland and not so fresh. The coleslaw was good and looked to have been home made and the cabbage salad had tasted like it had been made a few days ago. We got a coffee, thinking that at least it would be good, but it was nothing like the delicious tasting flavour we had...

We went in and queued up at the till, as there was a long queue and waited some time as the queue made it's way. We were for ordering food but once we got to the till we were informed that you have to order food further down the queue. It was not just us who were in this situation: there were others. This is not well signposted to inform customers and could be improved upon. I mentioned it to the girl at the till and she just shrugged. There was no apology. In the meantime, the person who was dealing with the food orders came out and started to take orders from those who were directly in front of her, ignoring those who were unaware of the business ordering system that were queuing for a while. This just added to our wait. We ordered sandwiches and chips, which were a bit overpriced for what they were. It wasn't really a positive experience for me, and I feel they need to inform customers on how they place their orders better than...

What a lovely place. Plenty of air great view. We arrived at start of lunch, there were so many nice freshly made things it wad hard to choose! I opted for the chicken and bacon ciabatta with a selection of salad- the beetroot and orange walnut was my favourite. I had a raspberry almond square for afters- very moreish. Staff were very pleasant and helpful 😊 Great wee place to rest after hiking up to the big stone

The park it is in is very nice and we were over visiting family. Paid £7.95 for a ham and cheese panini Just a plain and simple sandwich which I could have made at home for about £1.50 or less I think some cafes/restaurants deem themselves "Artisan" and think that justifies them charging quadruple a realistic price. Won't be visiting again if we are back over

Terrible service: coffee and food (when it arrives) is good, but staff unable to cope when it gets busy. They forgot one of our parties breakfasts ….3 times! Kept saying it was arriving, but never arrived, and then later asked what it was we’d even ordered. Abysmal service. Sadly wouldn’t recommend coming back.
