T2 Coffee Shop & Bistro — Restaurant in Newry, Mourne and Down District Council

Rude & Intimidating Staff. I had a very bad experience in this "cafe" in May 2021. I asked for two additional plates of toast, to go with our 4 breakfasts. The cashier at the till was rude towards my grandmother (in her 70's) because she asked for 4 additional slices of toast , asking her "did you pay for it?" even though she knew that it was not paid for as she was the cashier who processed the entire order. My Grandmother has assumed that the toast came with the breakfast like any other restaurant. The cashier told my grandmother to take a seat and that she would bring the toast down. Another staff member, shouting "NO ONE ASKED ME FOR TOAST! DID YOU PAY FOR TOAST??" which we did not as we thought it would come with the breakfast (which was 30 pound for 4 plates of a 5 piece breakfast) My grandmother, who was embarrassed due to all of this (as the staff were implying that we were trying to steal toast or something) then had to go to the till and pay 3 pound for 4 slices of toast. My daughter and I were here yesterday for the first time and definetly our last. I have worked most of my life in hospitality and have never had such a bad experience. To begin with, the staff stood looking looking at us and two other customers, they didn't seem to want to serve us so the other people left. I asked if the bread for the sandwiches was thick sliced the young girl said yes but it turned out to be wafer thin. A lot of the fillings had been out quite a while, were all dried out. The sandwich fillings were meagre to say the least. The pots of tea were sat in front of us without a word. Staff obviously haven't been trained. On top of all this the price was extortionate, two very meagre sandwiches and two...

Very disappointed with T2. Dirty tables everywhere, loads of very young staff standing around talking with not a supervisor in sight. When a teenager came over to clean our table I had to ask for it to be recleaned as about 25% of it was wiped the first time. About 60% got wiped with the additional requested. Food all over the floor. Adjoining tables must never be separated as there was a meal inbetween them. When I moved it to clean it (as had young child who's hands would be everywhere) the dirt under the table was foul...must never be moved...all the while all the staff looking at their phones and talking....
