Came across this lovely place today when we needed light refreshments with shade for our dog. The staff were delightful, and my afternoon tea a lovely treat. Tea with tea leaves is something l haven't had in a long time! My cuppa hit the spot. My hubby only wanted lemonade, and he said it was delicious. I had a quick glance at the cakes and pies, which all looked homemade and delightful. If l should ever find myself here again, l would return, thank you.

Cream tea done properly! Wasn't sure what to expect as they had some bad reviews but we went in to try them out. Very good service, fresh scones served with lots and lots of cream and jam. A bit quirky, and there was a very good atmosphere. Pricing wise, it is cheap and good value for money, there are places that charge a lot more for a cream tea, we paid £6.75 each and that was including the tea served in a huge teapot. Will definitely be going again.

Some super vegan options on the summer menu this year. These were the Butternut Balls which also had a vegan coleslaw served with them. Alongside my soya cappuccino this made for a very filling lunch in vintage-style surroundings. Other vegan options were available for mains but I was too full for cake. Previously I've been offered flapjack as a vegan option but I'm not a fan of it so haven't tried it here. I do love a proper cake!!

I don't know how anyone could rate this place less than 5 stars. I've been here about 5 times and each time I'm stunned by the quality and quantity!

The cakes are unreal and after 7 years of searching for a cream tea to even come a close 2nd to the ones at Woods cafe in Cardinham I've finally found a place that makes them as good and it's not for lack of trying over the years.

They were lovely and the amount of fresh cream you get could feed a family. The service has always been friendly and prompt. Prices are very reasonable for what you get and the location and decor are great.

My family and I love a cafe and have been to countless places and we agree this is the best we've been to 🙌 you can also lock your bikes up outside if you've rode down the...

Having researched this place for cream teas, we made the hour round trip from Appledore and pre-booked for a party of 6. We arrived at 2.10pm to find there were no fruit scones left and no sausage rolls. After waiting a considerable amount of time for the menus, we had to ask for the menus, ordered drinks including 2 pots of tea only to then have to ask for milk. Cakes were massive and huge portions but surprised fresh cream wasn’t used. Savoury cream scones were delicious and the tea was lovely. Not the best service considering the place was not even half full.

Disappointing...

Visited about a month ago. Sat outside for an excellent lunch, promptly served despite being very busy. After our lunch the power to the tills failed with a potential for chaos to ensue. The manager was brilliant!!! In addition to supporting his staff, setting up a make shift table for people to pay, directing customers to tables, dealing with awkward ones and thanking departures for their custom he maintained calmness and control. He was very professional and many so-called restauranteurs would learn by his example. Would definitely recommend and...
