Of all of the ice cream shops in Combe Martin I picked this one, glad I did too, not merely because they took card payments but the flavours available really took my fancy, reasonably priced for beach ice cream, flavours were good too, I can imagine it will take a few goes before this one is beaten. Mind you it was after walking along the SWCP from Valley of the Rocks with 16kg on my back.

I would just like to say what a charming place this is, with the most amazing view. I stopped for a cuppa a sausage bap and a cake and was a great pit stop. The staff were friendly and chatty perfect pit stop for a rainy morning.

I've been in this cafe at least twice a day for the past five days and have had great friendly service. Dogs are made very welcome. If l come to coumbe Martin in the future I will definitely be visiting this cafe AGAIN

The Redwood ice cream parlour is in a really nice location, pity the guy running isn’t as nice. My wife went in to order a pot of tea for herself and a decaf coffee for me. She was told we don’t have decaf coffee but we do have mint tea. My wife then replied he doesn’t like tea and due to a heart condition he doesn’t drink regular coffee, so forget the coffee, but I’ll also have a Cornish pasty with the tea.She then went and sat at a table outside. I had popped round the corner to buy some chips as we didn’t think the ice cream parlour sold hot food. I came back sat down with my wife and we were sharing the chips I’d bought and the pasty she’d bought. The owner then came out and in no uncertain terms told us we couldn’t eat the chips there as we hadn’t purchased them in his establishment, even though we tried to explain the tea and the pasty were bought in his shop. He still demanded we leave the table and go and stand at the road side. The cafe had no other tables being used at the time so really can’t understand his rude attitude. We will never again go...

Had the most disgusting experience in this shop this morning. Had barely stepped through the door and told immediately about wearing a mask. I explained I am medically exempt to be told that it didn’t matter (all other local shop workers were fine with this). Regardless of saying it again, the woman still said ‘that doesn’t matter to us’. This is blatant discrimination and an absolutely disgusting way to treat customers. You should not take it upon yourself to make up the rules in your shop. Those who are medically exempt are well within their right to be without a mask and as long as social distancing is observed there should be no issue. I will not be visiting this shop again post covid purely on this basis as they clearly are not reading the guidelines properly and discriminating against those with hidden disabilities. I didn’t have to fight my way back out of the shop for customers so perhaps her extremely unfriendly approach has put everyone else...

I can't comment on the quality of produce as the customer service was so poor that I didnt end up ordering. Called in at 6pm on Wednesday evening, no-one in the queue. Young lad behind the counter and then a women came around the counter, they laughed about something together and walked off.... I could clearly be seen waiting for ice cream. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited 5mins, neither bothered to return so I left. Whether your busy or not, customers are waiting (patiently) and deserve to at least be acknowledged. I certainly wouldn't ever...
