I don’t usually give reviews on restaurants but I felt compelled to give one about the experience received today. Upon arrival the waitress was helpful and sat us down etc. When they came to our table to get the first order we had requested to give us a couple of minutes as we had children with us and were not ready. Unfortunately 2 mins then became 10 mins and there were only 4 tables occupied.
We placed our order and the food arrived within a reasonable time frame. The quality of the food was nice and this is the 2nd time we have been here. To be fair we prefer the food here than L’artista. However the service is far superior at L’artista and makes the experience more enjoyable.
We asked for the bill and we were the only ones left in the restaurant bar a couple. We waited 10mins whilst the waitress was just chatting to the other waitress at the bar. To make matters worse I went to the bar to pay for the bill and the waitress didn’t even bother to apologise to say sorry. Secondly we had a baby with us and a pram as they knew this and they couldn’t be bothered to say goodbye, thank you nor get the door as we were waking out of the restaurant. They were still talking to each other.
This experience left a bad taste in our mouth and we will reconsider when going there again. It’s a shame, if the service matched the quality of the food then you would have a seriously good authentic restaurant there. I hope management take notice of this feedback of look at their customer...
Read moreI can't remember if I have reviewed before but every time I eat there I just feel like I have to tell someone! I usually get the lasagne because it is second to none, definitely the best I've ever had, a full Italian serving as well none of those poxy child portions some restaurants try to fob you off for stupid amounts of money.
Everything is cooked fresh with REAL ingredients and you can taste that but if your in doubt it's all pretty much cooked infront of you so you can see for yourself.
The staff are very varied, sometimes you get wonderfully mannered young women serving you who are full of smiles and help and then other times you get these dark handsome almost rude men with accents. To be honest I like them both lol. It always adds a bit of character to the evening.
I've had romantic nights with the husband, lunch with a friend, dinner with in laws, dinner with my daughter, take-aways. The food and atmosphere has never failed me. I ate at prezzo recently with some family and couldn't help but roll my eyes with the lack of authenticity and service, I almost felt a burden on them! Like cattle lol.
I hope alloro see this because with all their competition at the moment they should feel very proud. I promise to stay loyal as long as the food stays at such a HIGH standard. And remember with all the new restaurants brings more clientele to the area so...
Read moreFirst impression good, nice comfortable interior with a Mediterranean feel. We ordered two beers and two mains which came within ten minutes, so presumably the food had been par cooked and warmed up. Both meals didn't taste fresh. The tomato sauce tasted like it came from a jar, the pasta wasn't good quality and the veal was very thin, tough and tasteless. My wife ordered the chicken in large conchiglie, it came with rocket on the top, which wasn't mentioned on the menu. My wife is allergic to rocket, it makes her mouth and throat swell up. We asked for it to be removed and explained why but no apology was offered. The service was really poor, no "how is your meal" or chance to order another drink even though the place was quiet. My wife didn't finish her meal as the chicken was dry and the sauce was claggy. Again no "was everything ok for you?" Even though it was quite clear it wasn't. I tried the tiramisu for dessert and it had to be the worst I'd ever tasted. No coffee, no marsala, no vanilla, no sweetness just dry sponge and unflavored mascapone. Never worth a fiver. I think prices were expensive for the standard and size of the meals we had but to add to the insult an extra 10% "service charge" was added to the bill, again this wasn't mentioned on the menu. Overall I'd say overpriced poor quality food and even...
