Chilli Lounge — Restaurant in North Hertfordshire

Had a meal here yesterday, the food was great although the service was a bit slow considering how empty the place was. Paid cash, waited for my change to be returned to me, but instead the till was shut and I think one of the two waiters shoved some notes into his back pocket.

Waited a short while for him to come back to our table with my money, but instead the two men started heading towards the kitchen so I asked for my change. They went back behind the bar and fiddled about, then came back with my £15.

Maybe they thought that I would be too scared to challenge them, but this is not the way to get yourselves a tip! Incidently, they were on course to get one, until they tried this stunt and tried to keep double the amount of a 10% gratuity.

Went with 2 friends on Saturday night .Great setting in the busy part of baldock just off the high Street .restaurant looks great if your not too rall you can dine in the old open fire very nice otherwise great place staff superb and on the ball with all our questions bout our friends gluten requirements. I had the poppadoms of course followed by chicken passanda with mushroom rice wonderful. If you like great Indian food, this is definitely the place .the food takes a bit long but its cooked to order and is hot and incredibly tasty so if you like talking and not in a hurry this is the best Indian restaurant in baldock. Had a great curry here last night. Three of us had starters and mains and a couple of drinks.

It was fairly early in the night so not very busy. Waiters and the new waitress were attentive and efficient. The manager made us feel welcome.

We got a mix of spicy and plain poppadoms which were good and the dips usual and tasty.

The starters were decent. I had the vegetable samosa which had a small kick to it. The others liked theirs.

For main I had a prawn tandoori masala and it was delicious. Had some pilau rice with it too.

Apparently the fish curry is pretty spicy so be warned :)

I had the ferrero pudding which was good too.

We drank cobra and Campari. All fine on the drinks front.
