First, the waitress offered to “order for us” and make it an omakase style. That’s not what I wanted. Although I was given the option to order more when they served all the things they picked, I couldn’t order all that I wanted to eat because I didn’t want to delay everyone else. I came here for a buffet but I wasn’t given the chance to order what I liked. With that said, the majority of the dishes aren’t worth trying anyway. The fried rice is good. The shredded cucumbers and spring onions is also good. Everything else? Not so much. The chicken in the first dish (deep fried chicken?) was stinky! I really wanted to spit it out but I couldn’t do that on a table. Very disgusting. And later I had two dishes where the meat carried a dishwashing liquid flavour. The pancake in the duck dish tastes dry and powdery. I wonder how it became like that. The duck and the sauce were quite different from the classic Peking duck. And the classic is called classic for a good reason. The wontons had very thick skins and the soup was very salty. I would advise the chef to just buy some frozen ones and boil them in plain water instead of making bad wontons. It is very sad when you have so many things on the menu but in the end I had to fill my stomach with fried rice. Well, at least the fried...
Read moreWe booked for a large number a few weeks ahead for daughter's birthday. Arrived and told can't accommodate us. They said they tried to call in week to confirm but we had no calls at all from them or voicemails. We are very much attached to our phone! Just as we were leaving the manager said he could find a way but we had to be out in a certain amount of time ! It would be rushed but we didn't want to let birthday girl down. We were then put on separate tables in a line. Not the same as being together but we did it. We felt very rushed by one of the abrupt ladies serving us. Tell us we can't have any more from the menu at starter stage as we on a time limit! This is eat as much as like place. Rude lady. Any way daughter was almost crying even though cake brought out. We left rushed and decided we won't go back. The manager did his best but really it was a ruined birthday and the family could not catch up or celebrate her birthday. After covid it would of been a good time to come together and celebrate her birthday and birth of baby. Food was nice but not as our previous visit a month before. Sadly it's a no from...
Read moreVisited here with my wife and two young children on Wednesday 27th Sept. Walking in it looks nice and clean. We ordered off the a la carte menu instead of the all you can eat menu.
First thing we noticed is how small the round tables are for 4 people.
Secondly the restaurant isn't really geared towards families with children, we had to ask for forks as chopsticks and serving spoons were only provided. When you see children enter your restaurant you would quickly replace eating utensils for some that the children can use, I shouldn't have to ask as its common sense.
The food was quick to arrive and tasty, portion sizes were reasonable, not huge, not small. The price however was expensive for what you get. I was hoping for something above Chinese takeaway quality. Don't get me wrong it was lovely food just not worth the price you pay.
We won't be going back despite it being fully booked by the time we left. We could get equally tasty food from our regular...
