Went to this once delightful little pub last night our friend had booked a booth outside and was told they serve hot bar snacks on Saturday , first round of drinks took 25 minutes to arrive drinks for 5 people not an army the bar staff were not a bit apologetic about the lengthy wait for each order , after the 6 th round the girl serving us had taken our order and then proceeded to another table of her friend’s perched herself on a wall foot up on a chair and just sat chatting to her mates 35 mins had passed since the order had been requested and so my husband asked her what the hold up was with our drinks she replied that it was getting poured inside and we needed to understand that because of COVID they are only allowed one person behind the bar and two people taking orders fair enough if pub was packed but it was very quite at this point my husband walked out after the girl was extremely rude she then told us that we needed to appreciate that she had been working for 10 hours and also that her mum who was the one behind the bar had a bad foot so the delay was first down to COVID rules then the amount of hours she had worked and finally her mums bad foot , quite frankly the whole evening was a let down due to the rudeness the excuses and the severe lack of customer service , the decisions to not do the bar snacks was the saving grace because they both looked like there personal hygiene was the last thing on there mind , I’m not someone that complains about places and I am fully aware that times are difficult at the moment and I definitely allow for that I always tell the staff I appreciate what they have done and thank them but in this case it...

What a joke! Only giving one star as it doesn’t give me the option to do no stars or half a star. The only menu option for ‘Saturday steak night’ was a £13 sirloin steak or a ‘Bombay badboy oriental veggie burger’. Ordered the steak each (table of two); about 1 hour and 15 mins later we still hadn’t received our food. No comments or apologies from staff for the long wait or to explain delay. Table of three behind us were there before us and they still hadn’t received theirs either and another table had already walked out by this point (overheard staff say they had waited 2 hours for food). For the whole time we were there waiting we didn’t see anybody being served their food. After asking the staff where our food was, we were then told it’ll be another 10 minutes. 15 minutes later the table behind got their steaks; served in paper bags, cardboard ‘fish and chips’ takeaway boxes with wooden knife and fork. They commented that their steaks were way over-cooked and impossible to cut through with the wooden takeaway knife. Needless to say we asked for a refund and left. We had Sunday roast here with some friends. The kitchen was short of staff so we were only offered a very limited menu. Our option was Roast for the adults and chicken goujons and chips for the kids. The beef was overdone for my liking, the vegetables weren’t very well presented but perfectly cooked. The saving grace was the delicious gravy which made beef moist and the bound the dish together.
