The Hole In One — Restaurant in North Norfolk

We have eaten here many times but four of us went for lunch yesterday and were disgusted that our food was served in cardboard boxes. I've never had to eat a fish pie out of a box before. We were there a few weeks ago & the food was served on plates. Also my husband asked for a starter & was told they can't serve starters separately so had to have it with his main course. We had some different excuses given but we're not happy. On leaving we noticed a group of golfing ladies with scones etc & guess what, they had plates. We should all be treated the same. Won't be...

We visited this week. It was awful. The food is all prepackaged frozen food. The burger is the cheapest quality, processed meat (I'm sure it's not even meat). The chicken was over flame grilled (i.e. burnt). The menus advertised on the website don't exist. They don't have a children's menu. And the draft beer is watered down. The prices are extortionate for the quality. I feel sorry for the staff. They do their best with what they have. They were so busy. I would not recommend this place at all. Go to a normal pub. You'll get better food...

Staff were lovely and friendly, but was really let down by the food here. Everything was cheap. Burgers were flavourless and dry, chips were the cheapest frozen fries, coleslaw was supposed to be homemade, but didn't taste of much and all the same colour. £13 for burger and chips I would expect proper homemade food and good quality meat. Kids meal was equally poor. Mash was packet type, not actually involving potatoes. Really should be doing better...
