Enjoyed a long weekend break on the North Norfolk coast, staying at the pleasant Links Hotel in West Runton. All arranged at the last-minute. The Tea Room @ Corner House (also a B&B guesthouse) occupies a lovely location on the Green in West Runton and is a short walk from the hotel and both the train station and bus stops. Has an interesting collection of framed old photos on the walls of how the area used to be in times gone by. The Tea Room has an extensive menu of sandwiches (including fresh crab and hot toasties both of which we tried, and they were delicious), salads, daily specials, home-made cakes and excellent scones (with or without cream tea). Open all day with plenty of tables available to sit inside or outside. Dog and children friendly. There's a tree on the green outside the cafe with a swing on it to keep later entertained. We visited twice during our short stay in North Norfolk and both times enjoyed some superb sandwiches served with salad and coleslaw. All the food is made to order so be prepared for a slightly longer wait when they are busy. Hosted by one of the friendly owners, Daron. We will...
Read moreCame here for breakfast and was greeted by a very friendly gent who said we could choose whichever table we’d like! We chose a table for two by the window, we were given menus and a young server came to take our order, I had my usual latte and my partner had a peach iced tea, we both ordered the full English breakfast, mine with the addition of black pudding. Our drinks weren’t long in arriving and the iced tea was very tasty.
The breakfasts weren’t long either, both presented nicely and cooked lovely. We didn’t take long to devour them, and we both said we liked the look of the cakes that were on display on the counter. So we went to have a look. The server was very informative about the cakes, we settled on a slice of carrot cake to share, we also had another latte and a hot chocolate, which was very nice. The carrot cake was amazing, moist, tasty and extremely moreish. The atmosphere was so welcoming and relaxed we felt like we could have stayed there all day! Very much looking forward to...
Read moreGreeted in a friendly manner, shown to our table and allowed to change without a problem. Menus clear and with a good variety, several fresh homemade cakes on display that looked wonderful.
Served quickly and drinks brought to the table swiftly. Toasted sandwiches very tasty and generous side salads.
Had the Guinness cake for dessert, fresh creamy and delicious. Owners friendly and genuinely helpful and polite, waitress always on hand even though it was busy. Clearly many regulars as were warmly greeted by staff in a familiar way. Some customers had the afternoon tea which looked absolutely brilliant with large helpings of sandwiches, cakes and huge scones etc.
I cannot fault anything about it, clean, smartly decorated with friendly staff. What more could you want, will return again soon for afternoon tea and will book in advance as nearly every establishment require these days. Thank you for...
