La Riviera Di Mascio — Restaurant in North Tyneside

I love this place, like home from home. I don’t live in the area but everytime I am down the coast I will call in, the best ever coffee, always piping hot and strong, after living in Italy for 3 years and trying a lot of coffee shops this is by far the closest to a real Italian coffee I know n warms me right up, sometimes you get a coffee that is warm or like warm or too much milk but this always hot. It’s also my partners fav, so no matter where we are down the coast we go there.

We won’t go anywhere else if we can help it! The staff are lovely, always feel welcome and the salads are amazing that I had in the summer and in the winter I like warmer stuff to warm me up and I love the sandwiches.

Myself and three other members of staff (support workers) who support a young man arrived here to purchase a cup of coffee but found the cafe to have just closed due to us arriving late, the young lad I was with was very eager to have a cuppa as is his usual routine, seeing he was unhappy the lady who was on staff and currently closing up decided to stop and make him a latte to go despite having cleaned up and closing the shop, she was very pleasant with him and made small talk with him, he was very happy with this and enjoyed the interaction and the coffee, he left in a very happy mood and this most likely contributed to the happy tone he had for the rest of the day, she didn’t need to open back up or provide a coffee, we arrived well after the stated closing time and we where at fault, her kindness and cheerful attitude helped brighten his day and we where all very...

I was recommended this place by a friend of mine and to try canoli. I went with a Americano coffee to go which was served with lovely almond biscuits. There was a choice of 3 different canolis to choose from, I think hazelnut, pistachio and 1 other.

I went with pistachio which taste stale and dry and was rather disappointed 😞 by this. I was expecting a fresh canoli. Unfortunately I was too far away to go back and complain about this.

Apart from that service was excellent and coffee was good.
