Sambuca Braise Station — Restaurant in North Tyneside

Horrible experience. Steaks were over cooked. One to the point my colleague didn’t want a replacemen, his T-bone steak looked like pork it was that bad. Manager said he would take this off of the bill. Mine was over done but bearable which I told them this but I would eat it any way. Bill came and seemed high so I questioned it. Wasn’t itemised just a piece of paper with a price. Paid bill and left. Got back to hotel and it was playing on my mind so called to query prices as a random customer. It didn’t add up so I went back as we’d been overcharged £11. They told me that morretti was a different price when I came back to what they told me on phone and also tried saying we’d had more beer than we had. I assume to recoup some loss. We had already tipped the waiters £10 as this wasn’t their fault and to be fair these young lads were great and really professional. In the end they offered me £5 back to which I said don’t bother as I was irritated at this point and I felt a bit of an insult considering food was so bad.

So any way we sent food back. One of us didn’t eat and still nearly paid full price. Atmosphere is terrible, resteraunt looks as bad, food is worse. The only compliment I have is the two young lads serving were brilliant. Those boys need to go and work in a better establishment as they will definitely earn more tips if the food and management are better. Badly organised. No one greeted us upon arrival so we sat down for food at the closest table assuming this was OK. We were promptly moved by a random bar staff member, who then passed us onto a restaurant server, who then took us to a different table than the one we had already sat at. This table was very small and stuffed into a corner, but because we were two people, they assumed this would be fine. We were left to decide our drinks by the server, however 30 seconds later another server came to ask if we wanted any drinks. I informed her that we had just sat down and would like some time.

After this inconsiderate and confusing service, we decided to leave without ordering anything. The service was very strange, and unwelcoming.

Would certainly not return, and would recommend you approach the bar to be given a designated server to seat you, as they do not have anyone welcoming customers in...

Brilliant service and Quality have been visiting this place about 10+ times now, and was a regular at the Percy Main Sambuca too which is also 5* Sambuca for service and quality too, but due to road works off the coast road we tried this Sambuca instead. It's a little extra on the menu price compared to the Percy main, but not too much, but I think this is down to the big Pizza oven on show, which produces higher quality pizza and bread experience to that of the Percy Main which were nice, but the Pizza oven is that little extra (LUSH). my only negative is the size of the place and can be cramped in when full, and you'll need to start booking as the last couple of times the restaurant has been full on a number of times.
