On Saturday i was tempted to try a breakie in wetherspoons after promising myself to boycott them after Mr martins actions n attitude during the pandemic and the way he treated his staff but thats millionaires for you. I so wish i had stuck to my guns. I ordered a large breakfast and i small breakfast the difference being one slice of bread extra and one more egg oh sorry the one mushroom they put on my plate which was very embarrassing. They have actually stopped the drinks now which you have to pay separately. I got served warm bread with no colour instead of toast. The plate and food was cold. Got given to cups with no sausers so i could not put my teabag or stirer on side so it had to go on table. Surely the chef can see that it was not toast but warm bread surely they would of been embarrassed to put one mushroom on a plate looking back in hindsight i should of complained there n then but all i could see was two very inexperienced young girls rushing around could not see a manager around. I have learnt my lesson to stick to my boycott now this is not the way Mr martin to win back customers. It was the fire station whitley bay do your self a favour n go...
Read moreTerrible staff, was spoken too like dirt for sitting with my family. Staff member came over and said we need to sit apart right now (we are a family of 6 who live together) and make the two children sit on another table. She was so rude but when we asked why there was another table of 6 people who were sitting together (clearly not from the same household) she said that was fine as they were in an enclosed booth? They lost our business for the next week as the young teen staff member with blonde hair was honestly vile with how she spoke to us. We have complied with every restriction on this trip so far and would have happily sat on tables next to one another but that was so out of order the way we were abused. She was obviously in a bad mood or has been furloughed for too long-not acceptable behaviour. What a shame, pubs are struggling at the moment and they have staff like this that can turn £100+...
Read moreFire station was really lovely. Good food and drink at good prices. The fire station was clean enough, it was busy and had to ask for table to be cleared and wiped over. Some of the staff was pleasant and polite.one person serving he was so happy. The toilets are upstairs but they do have accessible toilet downstairs, just ask for key or for door to be un locked. They have accessible entrance. The fire station is 5 mins walk from whitley Bay metro and local bus service runs close by. Few local shops close by and couple more pubs and you'd be about 10-15mins walk from beach. Been here few times and will definitely be back. I have come here with family and friends 😊x Still great food at great prices, they were quick this time to clear and clean the table Lovely curry you get lot for your money,...
