Expected better after the refurbishment!

I'm sorry but this place is in a really bad place, just like it was before. However, without trying to put too much blame on the staff, I do find them to be responsible for several things.

This review is based on the last 4 visits over 3 months.

1. timing - food is never made on time. Just accept that if it states your order will be ready in 30 minutes, add another 20 minutes to avoid long waits (even if they have sneakily marked orders as ready).

2. indoor staffing issues - two staff to man the whole business is just frankly not enough. If you have to stop making several meals to take an order or go to the back to get change (why is there no change in the tills) then you know there's an issue. One of the staff member was not even trained on taking orders, just packing and even then he was frequently asking the other gent how to do things. There's nothing wrong with training staff but staff shortages is unfair on customers and the staff themselves.

3. prices - 2/4 visit I was charged incorrectly. The staff member just calculated the costs in his head. There is no working POS system! Overcharged half of the the time is not on.

4. food quality - this is the worst. I can forgive all the above if an establishment had good food but it's not the case here. The chicken are bulk cooked and left in the warmer for goodness knows how long. When you're (likely) to get this as part of your meal, it tastes disgusting and salty. The gravy last time has the consistency of water, went straight in the bin. If you decide to shop here, the only thing fresh is the beef burger and fries because they're made to order but even then the burger is highly priced for what you get.

Management really need to revisit the drawing board because they're ruining any respect that's left for this place. People had high hopes after the refurb but it seems management has not changed and cheap/old food is being pumped out by staff who seem like they...

Absolutely appalled at the way i have just been treated by the owner of this business. After missing off more than half of our order when we called them to enquire we were told that there must have been an issue with the delivery driver and that we would be called back. We were not and calls from my number were then being diverted to a private persons mobile voicemail. Calling from another phone got through however, and we were then put on to the owner who said that there was nothing that could be done and that they would have to cook the order for us tomorrow as the chef had gone home. I advised them that they had now left a pregnant woman without food, and asked what they would be doing to make this right . The answer was nothing. No refund or discount. We were then told that if we wanted a refund we would need to return the part of the order that was delivered. This despite confirming with them what had been delivered and them discussing with the delivery driver the error.

The abysmal customer service has completely infuriated me, and I will never speak well of Dixy Chicken again, despite having always previously held them in some esteem as a decent chicken place. Absolutely disgusted with the way that the man on the phone refused to take ownership of the issue. First time back in 2 years after poor service , thought I would give them a try after a refurbishment. Place is work in progress with refurbishment. The time to get food ready still hasn’t gotten any better for a fast food outlet, we waited 25 mins for our food when we sat in. The cheese burger was fresh and in a large bun and chips fresh too, my mega mix burger was not quite as advertised. Menu clearly stated on screen that it was a fillet burger, menu stated inside also has fillet burger stacked with 2 chicken strips. Mine was a burger made up of 4 chicken strips! Not the burger I had ordered but apparently that’s how it is served. It meant that I had less chicken content when they tried to use the bottom 2 strips to make up the size of the fillet that should have been in. Food was actually nice and fresh in a good size bun, but based on the price and misleading description in store, point of principal I won’t be back myself as I personally felt being robbed off the fillet.
