This unassuming restaurant is well worth a visit. Fine dining in Whitley Bay . I and my family ;16, 17 & ??, ??😏 went here for sons 16th birthday and had the 6 course set meal which is the only option but the food was delicious and the service was great. I don’t take to the pretentiousness of some fine dining establishments but the Roxburgh is not like that at all. The food is brought to with a simple explanation and it is delicious. You pay an appropriate price which isn’t cheap. But as a self confessed tight Yorkshireman i was happy to pay for the whole great experience. ...

An absolute hidden gem in Whitley Bay, so lucky to live locally. A restaurant done well. Delicious food, cool setting, personal service - unpretentious. I'll be thinking about the steak and 'chip', the oyster starter and stoners delight for a while! Plus a perfectly crafted old fashioned and superb wine selection too. The taster menu was amazing - a complete surprise as we did not get a menu, which adds to the interest. The food was delicious- but not a belly buster, all small plates. We got the wine pairing which was good value for money and the lady who served us was very informative about all of the food and drinks.
