From the outside of this place its very beautiful and in a very lovely location, I am not one to write negative reviews but when it efforts health then its in my best interest so it can be avoided by others or issue can be addressed Appropriately As soon as you walk in there is a strong smell of damp or something which effected my Asthma ( which nearly weeks on and my asthma is still affected) We got told they upgraded us to the Supreme room instead of a standard double , we get show to our room and there was marking on small pillow and break lamp and there was fair few Stains on the side and lamp is broken to, the room as 2 little doors to the bath room and one of the doors keep getting stuck which started panicking as got stuck a few times the bathroom , its a small bathroom , i could of coped with this but to top it all off, the bed and mattress was very hard it felt like we was sleeping on the floor, i didnt have no sleep at all nor didn't my partner ( which is a complete waste of money you book places like this to sleep ) we stayed on 20/6/2024 for my sister in law wedding I had breakfast the bacon looked under cooked with to much fat on it and mushroom was far to Grease Staff seemed to be okay but they clearly don't like standard class people ( my opinion) not worth the money or if you had breathing issues like chronic asthma or copd or any like this please find somewhere more appropriate Place Needs a refresh and please sort the damp issue before it effects other people health

Staying at the chapel house for an extended weekend away and cant say enough good things about our stay. Richard and Siobhan are the most welcoming hoteliers I have ever come across and noting was to much trouble. The hotel itself is comfortable and full of character with spacious rooms with all the normal facilities you would expect and most importantly if you are looking for peace and quiet this place certainly has it. The restaurant is also another plus offering a delicious selection of dinners with the fillet steak highly recommended and for those staying the breakfast is equally delightful with Richards prize winning marmalade a personal favourite. All in all a very lovely stay and would highly recommend.

The Chapel House is one of my favourite places to eat. The speciality nights are some of the most interesting events I’ve been to. Richard is an amazing chef with great knowledge of both food and wine. Siobhan is a great host who is always happy to help and makes you feel very welcome.

Stayed in room 5 with my cockerpoo Hector. Many accommodations advertise themselves as “dog friendly” when what they really mean is “dog tolerant”.|The proprietors of Chapel house: Richard and Siobhan understand the challenges of travelling with your pooch and go out of their way to ensure that both human and dog have a relaxed comfortable stay.|From a human perspective: we’ll located in a quiet cul-de-sac with parking. Rooms clean, comfortable with all usual extras including drink making facilities, trouser press, tv, free wifi, complementary water etc|Lots of nice little things showing attention to detail. Food was really good: aka carte menu had lots of choice and was fab. Breakfast was served when you wanted it and as per your order: you film in a chit Ty saying what you want or don’t want. Once again, a wide choice.|From the dog perspective: made very welcome. Made a fuss of from start to finish. Bedroom had a doggy welcome pack including snacks, chews, and a ball. Dog bed provided with water bowl. One of my favourite things was that the owners just know that no matter how well (or badly) trained your dog is, they are going to hop into the bed. In anticipation they put a separate sheet on the bed which they don’t mind the dog jumping on.|For dining, there is a separate room for those with dogs so you do not need to worry about other guests. When we stayed there was another couple with dogs and we shared the dining room which was lovely. There are nice quiet gardens which dogs can explore.|For breakfast, Hector had his own sausage.|Apologies for the long review but there were so many positives about this place that I felt it was important to share them. |The owners are really friendly but maintain a relaxed atmosphere which was much appreciated.|Highly...
