La Torre — Restaurant in North West Leicestershire

We’d been really looking forward to dinning here after being told how nice it was. How disappointed were we! When we arrived our table wasn’t ready and we were asked to stand at the bar and wait, which we felt very awkward doing because the owner was having a heated conversation with who I think was his partner even his bar staff were embarrassed. Eventually we were seated to be served mussels which were off, I pointed this out to the manager who replied “ you’re the second one to complain tonight I think it’s the wrong season for mussels” surely if this is the case they should be taken off the menu. My main was fillet steak which to be honest was more like braising steak. We had to end our night early because I developed a really bad stomach and spent the rest of the night on the toilet, which I can only blame on the off mussels. Will not being going again. Very...

It was my first visit here on recommendation of family member. First impressions on walking in was good, very clean and nice furniture and decor. Greeted by friendly staff and shown to seats promptly. The seating was comfortable and you didn't feel hemmed in by surrounding table's. The staff were efficient and attended to our needs without being intrusive. The food was delivered in a timely manner and I have to say, the best Sunday roast I've had in some time, we had a range of food, from lamb, beef, pan roasted chicken and fish, we all agreed the food was great, no complaints. we visited thursday afternoon and the lunch deal 2 courses for £9.95 was lovely. We had homemade soup and the baked mozerella and aubergine mushroom to start Penne arrabiatta and pork in mushroom sauce for main The food came out in good time and was served piping hot. Everything was made freshly and tasted fantastic. The restaurant was warm, cosy and inivitng for saying there was only 3 tables taken at the time we visited for us. The staff are attentive and polite and were really enjoying talking to the two small children on the table opposite us.

The lunch meal was really good value for money and we look forward to going back again...
