Cheese debate.

Went for quick food here as my daughter and I were starving...not been there many times so made a nice change. Sat by the window and ordered food..however when it came I could nt see or taste the cheese in the cheesey chilli potato ..literally thought there was none in it. I went up to the counter like Oliver Twist and said there was no cheese in my food...the girl held it up..got a fork and literally picked up a tiny bit of cheese on the side of the plate..not the food itself. Yes there is cheese in it says she. Well I cant see or taste it I said and laughed. Could I have some more on it I asked? No we have set portion sizes she said. We are only allowed to put on a certain amount of cheese she said. Ok...but theres none on my dish....I stood there with my plate in hand and she was not going to budge. Other customers were watching. Like Oliver Twist I asked for more cheese so I could actually see and taste it. Huffing...someone came over and grabbed cheese from the counter and put it on my jacket spud. Its just cheese ladies and not a crime to expect some on my dish!! Apart from that its ok...but pricier than other places and you dont get value for money..well not in my case . Plate was only a small plate too!! So sorry, but better...

Generally go very often to Bob and Bert’s, mostly Portadown. Went today, Sunday, as usual, ordered Panini with 2 salads and a new loaded fries dish with bacon, sausage, cranberry sauce together with coffee lattes. Received panini a short time later but loaded fries arrived much later. The panini was luke warm but eatable. However it was a different story for the loaded fries as it was impossible to find a warm spot. Called the assistant to explain who took the loaded fries away, brought them back later but the only thing warm was the plate. She explained the fries couldn’t be reheated. We asked to speak to the Manager but a supervisor explained she could not replace food as we had tried the food and ate a couple of forkfuls of food! This has been our first disappointing experience in Bob and Bert’s. We are 3 females who have being going faithfully every Sunday for at least 7 months, obviously because we love Bob and Bert’s, but after todays experience we will have to rethink...

Staff used to be friendly, however from the self service system came in they’ve become lazy and very unhelpful. We tried to use the self service, tablet wasn’t working which I explained to the girl after she told us to use it instead of paying at till. Then we tried again and the items we wanted were not on the menu yet it was sitting in front of us. We then approached the till and said we’re looking to order at the till and the girl was abrupt and huffed. Took 25 mins for our order to come (slice of cake, sausage roll and 2 teas) and at no point did anyone speak to us or ask us to have a seat. The staff stood and chatted away to each other about other staff members while my kids were standing there while they used foul language which is totally unacceptable. Bob and Bert’s has always been a place we’ve came to but we’re highly disappointed in them now and have...

Bob & Berts in Portadown is a great spot to relax, especially on a cold day. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it the perfect place to sit back and enjoy a warm drink. Their hot chocolate is rich and indulgent—just what you need to warm up. The café offers plenty of seating, making it a comfortable place to unwind while waiting for something, like an oil change for your car. With a great selection of food and drinks, it’s an excellent choice for a quick break or a leisurely visit. If you're in the area, it’s definitely worth stopping by for a comforting treat and a welcoming experience.

Got the pancake stack with bacon. Requested when ordered no maple syrup and was still on the plate. My bacon was NOT cooked. The staff was ok had to order at till and was our first time but staff stood behind till chatting to each other while we ordered. Also called our drinks order and when I went to collect the staff member had went up the stairs had to wait ir her to come back with it. Dont think I will be back as it was very expensive for a small fry, pancake stack with only 2 pancakes and raw bacon and 2 teas.

We (1 adult, 3 children 5,7,9) had the rainbow cake, a muffin and a sausage roll, and to drink tea and 3 different juices. It was expensive for all we got. The rainbow cake and muffin was split between the 3 girls easily. The rainbow cake was way too sweet and needed loads of the cream but there wasnt enough. A friend had a toasties and sweet potato fries (they were a little soggy) but over all it was ok. The staff were friendly too. The whole place reminds me of a chain like Starbucks or Costa which I didn't like.
