Burger King — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

I don't go to the Boulevard that often but when I do I always seem to forget just how bad this place is. Went yesterday and had to wait in a queue with other people for my order so no, it's not fast food. In fairness to the young staff, they were doing their best, it was clearly understaffed and they looked stressed. I hate how young people get the rap for things like this when it's clearly terrible management. If it was a one-off I wouldn't mind but every time (I forget) and go again, it's the same. We got plant based burgers which were, at a push, room temperature and we couldn't finish. The place has a horrible layout, high ceilings, a back door that is permanently ajar. It's a really cold building already so we had to move seats away from the cold wind blowing through the door, to one which was marginally less cold, to half eat our cold burgers with our CANS of drink because it appears that they don't have working drinks machines? It has all the ambiance of an A&E waiting room on a dreary winters evening. There was zero point going up to complain because they were already struggling and there was still a queue of people. It would have ended up being another long wait for new, hopefully warm burgers. What baffles me is that they have a single toilet which...wait for it...opens outwards into the restaurant!! How bizarre! It's mind boggling how anyone would choose to use it. As we sat there, we were able to enjoy the lovely view of the toilet as customers came and went! Ugh. Unfortunately the options for food in The Boulevard are tiny so this is the only place you can get what is laughably called 'fast food'. Avoid it at all costs. Visited here with my wife, as she wanted to do a bit of shopping, and check out the sketchers shop, as well as a lot of other shops in-between. Decided to have a quick bite to eat, and decided on burger king, on waiting to be served, by a friendly and helpful member of the counter staff, I noticed one of the back staff drop some items of food, and after looking around and maybe realising he was being observed, bent down and picked up what I could see one piece of the dropped food. Not sure if there was any other, as the piece of which I saw was then despatched to the waste bin. That being said, after picking up the soiled piece of food and putting it in the bin, I was surprised to observe that the gentleman didn't then think hygiene, and wash his hands straight after. But went on to prepare and serve up food for consumption. I also noticed that the burgers were taken out of a freezer and put onto a grill for cooking or heating, by yes hand, no gloves, raw flesh 😕, but on mentioning all of this or that, I have now decided not to indulge in what I always enjoyed, the burger king 👑, due to a simple observation and a lack of wanting to be the best from the above mentioned. The burger itself was not up to the standard of which burger king was yesteryear, and I know some will say wind your neck in and what do you expect, as it's fast food and all that. But what I expect is quality, and more so from fast food, as if it's too much to be hygienic, then that's too little an excuse for serving the public. Would rate the burger joint a 0 if possible, never have I had more ignorant service in my life, no one to take my order and when what I presume to be a manager in a black shirt walks to the front counter, they rudely walked right past and didn’t even acknowledge me then walked straight into a room. Place wasn’t that busy and I found it very hostile like I wasn’t wanted there. The feeling you get just trying to order would put you off fast food full STOP… the place was absolutely filthy aswell napkins all over the floor, bins flooded and no one making a move to sort out the dining area, how this place passes inspections I’ll never know l o l. The prices of the burgers do not reflect quality. While I was waiting to be served, the language that could be heard from god knows where was absolutely atrocious, set a real bad mood for the rest of my wife and I’s shopping experience at the boulevard.
