Salt Kitchen Banbridge — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

First time in establishment, it was lunch time was over with wife and young kid. Staff was polite and showed us to our table the menu given listed a range of dishes and the kids meal was rather large for a child of 3 even had a very delicious Brownie and Ice Cream which disappeared faster than the main kids meal.

We ordered a sharing platter which was very large compared to other locations it was first class, the ribs having the suace was not over whelming in that you get the taste of the meat which was not overpowered by the sauce.

The food came promptly in about 20mins from the time of ordering which we thought is within reason as it was prepared and laid out distinctly, soup was excellent also Tomato Basil with Chilli the bread accompanied was aromatic as it was warmed, soup was very nice unlike some places and tasted like home made and not over powered with salt, you get the full flavour of the tomatoes which tasted like it was roasted, and the chilli giving it a kick now and again. As the service and food was great, decided to call in for breakfast this too was a treat the black pudding was especially nice, not to mention the gluten free bread.

The staff here are what really stands out. Went this evening with my adult kids and the staff were fantastic. Had a cake for my son and they discreetly took it off me on the way in and brought it out with candles after our meal. They even sang Happy Birthday (I did gesture to sing low though because my son was a little mortified 😄). Most young people get a terrible rap a lot of the time and it's usually unwarranted, these guys were lovely, cheerful and very helpful, what a great bonus to this restaurant! The food was lovely, great vegan options albeit limited. Risotto was fab. The chunky chips were undercooked although hunger meant they were eaten! I did mention it when asked about our meal at the till & the the guy took off the price of dessert which I thought was very kind considering we didn't actually ask for new chips. Overall, a great experience with lovely young, polite staff who gave us a great service. We will definitely be back, it's such a nice chilled atmosphere, a great contemporary vibe without being pretentious....

We (my teen daughter and I) were so hungry on the day, and we picked up Salt Kitchen without knowing much about it! It is located on the far left of the shopping centre, it is a quiet spot and this was lovely because the centre was very noisy. It was a nice day, and the restaurant had an outside area that, luckily, had a table for 2 available. We got served fast, and we waited approximately a min for our drinks: a coffee and a sprite and a maximum of 15 min or less for our food. The portions are big: I went for chicken burrito and my daughter for crispy chicken.

We loved the staff - very nice and efficient, they smiled and talked to us and answered every question about the food as we couldn't make up our minds on what to order. The staff deserves 100 stars!

Food - tasty and nicely served. Large portions, but we ate it all!
