Kraken Fish & Chips is a fantastic spot for seafood lovers, and my visit on Saturday was nothing short of delightful. The place has a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a hearty meal. I ordered the classic fish and chips, and it was absolutely delicious. The fish was fresh, with a perfectly crispy golden batter that had just the right amount of crunch. The inside was flaky and tender, making every bite satisfying. The chips were equally impressive—crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, served hot and well-seasoned. I also tried the coconut prawns, and they were a real highlight. The coconut coating added a subtle sweetness that paired beautifully with the succulent prawns. They were fried to perfection—crispy without being greasy—and came with a dipping sauce that enhanced their flavor even more. The service was friendly and efficient, adding to the overall great experience. Whether you’re craving a classic fish and chips meal or something with a unique twist, Kraken Fish & Chips is definitely worth a visit. I’ll certainly be coming back to try more of their menu! Highly recommended for seafood lovers.

We ate in one of the pods outside; it had a great view and was warm enough as the pods have heaters, but the zip on our pod's door was broken so we did get a bit beaten by the wind. We had monkfish scampi and a chicken burger. Both were good, although the tartare sauce could do with a little more pickle and the slaw on the burger may not be to everyone's taste. Can highly recommend adding gravy to your order, it is awesome. You order everything through a QR code, which is a little bit fiddly. I would have liked them to bring the drinks we had ordered while we waited for the food, but these didn't come until they brought the food. It was probably only a ten or fifteen minute wait, but I still would have liked to have our wine as we waited. Overall the food was good, the pod was a nice idea and the price is not too expensive. A little touch more attentive service would have made it give stars.

Busy, but outdoor seats were available even though we didn't book a table. These are under a covered area, but no real protection from the wind when it picked up. There appears to be indoor seating available as well, however, for such an occasion. Lots of little wooden cabins to sit in, which were cute, but all full; very popular. As it was a warm evening, many preferred outside; caught glimpses of the sea over the fairly high wooden fence. Even saw dolphins or porpoises in the bay! Food was great. Normally the kids don't finish meals when they're out, but these were definitely finished. Big portions. Was very hungry going in, but stuffed by the time I was wandering out, just after a main course. High quality ingredients. Not greasy at all. Perfect seaside food. Will go again.

Was so looking forward to visiting this place as one of my favourite things is a good old fish and chip. Queued up for around 40 mins, but we went at peak time, so you've gotta expect to wait a while. There did seem to plenty of confusion amongst costumers as to where to queue for carry out and where to queue for the seating area. I ended up very very disappointed however as my fish was worse than average, lots of batter on the fish, crunchy batter on the outside, and more mushy batter between it and the actual cod. Not really that appetising at all. Why not go a nice Beer batter or a light Tempura batter rather than this effort. My girlfriend had the chicken burger and whilst it was huge, the cheese had obviously been lying out in the air as it hadn't melted and was like cardboard. Chips were tasty enough. Lovely set up and great concept with the hut booths etc and this place still has loads of potential. Overall very disappointing as I was expecting an amazing fish and chips, but maybe I got them on a bad day, so I'd be willing to give it another go, although I'd maybe try something...

As someone with celiac disease, it was honestly such a refreshing experience to walk in and not worry about my food being cross contaminated with other foods. Can't tell you the last time I had a chippy, and this experience did not dissapoint. No matter how far away you are from Portrush, it's a tickbox you need to check off if you can! Food was amazing!! Honetly cant wait to come back and try everything on the menu! The service was great- friendly staff who were enthusiastic about actually caring for you gluten free needs, and a lovely environment! My food was also cooked pretty quickly in comparison to other places, and the portion sizes were spot on. I had got a burger with a portion of chips and a portion of battered sausages. Totalled to about £14, which is phenomenal for something that big and is ALSO gluten free, so don't worry about getting getting your money's-worth!

I would happily go there again, without hesitation, and I honestly couldn't express the need to try it if you are also...
