I was fortunate to have been one of the first tasters of this menu set. Manongs has always been known to be delicious. The Filipino taste recreated perfectly in Belfast, for both locals and Pinoys alike. This time they really have outdone themselves. Starting with the Filipino spaghetti. The pasta was the right firmness. The pasta seems to be cooked in portions instead of batches. This is rare for this kind of restaurant. Then the sauce has the right sweetness and meatiness. Not too overpowering sweetness, which was complimented properly with the meat. Then the steak patty! Tasted a lot of steak patty but never as tasty as this one before. The patty was quite thick, and still every part, including the middle, was perfectly cooked, perfectly juicy, and perfectly tasty. How they achieved consistent flavor throughout the meat have kept me wondering the whole night. This steak patty is covered in gravy with mushroom sauce. One only has to take a bite to discover that the mushrooms are fresh and juicy. And the gravy is to die for. I wouldn't have minded making the gravy into a soup. And the pièce de résistance is the chicken. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Warms my mouth, my tummy, and my soul. I don't have the right words to describe such experience. But I enjoyed it too much that I have to steal my partner's chicken portion. Manong continues to perfect and evolve their dishes. I'm always looking forward to what's new in their menu and how each dish taste. I will definitely be coming back! Most probably...
