We were out for our dads 60th surprise birthday meal. I had booked our table of 6 on the 9th of September 2022 online. We have been to this restaurant numerous of times and never had a problem.
The table we were placed at was in the middle of the restaurant and the employee put the three tables together. The tables were not ready even though we had pre booked. It was like we had been forgotten about. We were very close together to the other tables. We couldn’t even get out at one side because it was that close to the other table.
My dad had been unwell for the past few weeks. My dad started to became unwell in the restaurant. I went up to the front desk and spoke to the manager. I explained my dad was upset and feeling unwell and could we move tables to somewhere quiet and out of the way. She said there wasn’t any. I asked could we go around the corner or even a booth? She explained the booths were all booked. She pointed at a table at the back of the restaurant in the corner and said we could sit there. I said that would be ok and thanked her. As we all moved to this table there was only 4 chairs and only enough for 4 people at this table not 6 people! We had to go back to our original table. This was embarrassing.
In the middle of us moving table two of their employers ‘Anna’ and ‘Archie’ made rude comments/ snickering/ eye rolling. My husband was standing beside them and they didn’t realise he was with us. When we went back to our original table the manager not once checked in with us or myself to see if we were ok or why we hadn’t got sorted. She walked past a few times and not once acknowledged us.
We were then further ignored when we went up to the till to order. We had to ask for our food order to be taken. Slow service.
One of our party was vegetarian. We asked the supervisor at the till could he do the chicken penne past vegetarian instead? He said that was no problem. He charged us the same price as the chicken penne pasta. When the meal came, all it was vegetables in a pasta sauce. No pasta! We had to send this back and ask for the pasta. The waiter took it and was embarrassed at what we had received. All 5 of us ate, while we waited a further 10 mins for the new dish to arrive. The penne pasta which we did receive was nothing like your chicken penne pasta. It was completely different!
I am very disappointed at the service we received from start to finish. The customer service provided from all staff was appalling and we will not be back. I think Ramores staff are lacking training and good customer service skills.
We have sent this complaint to Ramore on Facebook and email and are yet to hear back,...
Read moreMy dearest gastronomic adventurers, gather 'round, for I have a tale of epic disappointment to recount—a saga that unfolded within the hallowed walls of Ramore, a restaurant that promised delight but delivered naught but despair.
Act I: The Thirsty Wait
Picture this: I, parched and weary, entered Ramore with dreams of libations dancing in my mind. Alas, the gods of hydration frowned upon me! Thirty minutes—an eternity—I languished, my throat as arid as the Sahara. The elusive elixir remained elusive, and my patience waned like a melting glacier.
Act II: The Fateful Order
Summoning courage, I beseeched the server for sustenance. “Bring forth the Steak Wellington!” I declared, my voice echoing through the cavernous dining hall. Ah, the anticipation! The flaky pastry, the succulent beef, the harmonious symphony of flavors—it was to be my pièce de résistance.
Act III: The Unthinkable Betrayal
And lo, the moment arrived. A silver cloche was unveiled, revealing… a monstrosity. Behold, dear reader, a Yorkshire pudding cradling a slab of steak! The audacity! The sheer culinary heresy! My heart sank like a leaden soufflé. The Steak Wellington, once a beacon of hope, now lay defeated—a mere footnote in the annals of gastronomic tragedy.
Act IV: The Staff’s Indifference
I raised my voice, demanding answers. “Why, oh why?” I implored. The server, unfazed, shrugged as if rehearsed in the art of disappointment. “Our chef’s whimsy,” they replied, as if whimsy could excuse this abomination. No remorse, no apology—only indifference.
Epilogue: A Yelping Despair
And so, my friends, I pen this review with a heavy heart. Ramore, you have shattered my culinary dreams. Your service, a labyrinth of delays; your Steak Wellington, a mockery of tradition. I leave you with a single tear, shed for lost potential and misguided puff pastry.
In summary: Avoid Ramore like a plague of undercooked calamari. Seek solace elsewhere, where drinks flow freely, and Yorkshire puddings remain in their lane. Fare thee well, Ramore. May your soufflés rise, and your service improve—lest ye be forever etched in the annals of over-the-top...
Read moreWent today for lunch for a birthday celebration pre booked a table in the window which we received. The place was packed out really busy sadly it was that loud you could not have a conversation as couldn't hear to talk. There was a party of 5 with 2 children on a table one of the men on the table was coughing, coughing and coughing constantly he couldn't drink, eat or speak it was that bad he should not of been allowed to enter the restaurant. The staff and everyone around could clearly see this man in his thirties had some sort of covid or something serious this was way past a chest infection, copd or asthma but not a soul asked him to leave or was he ok or anything he was just allowed and left coughing coughing constantly. This should of been addressed immediately by members of staff with the sweat pumping down his face, paleness on his face he had something seriously wrong. The staff are all young kids with no customer experience they have no expectations and never once asked if everything is ok? They are like something out of the living dead walking with glum faces dressed in black appropriately. God help the full restaurant we might all come down with illness or god forbid covid after today. Food was edible nothing special not worth the price had far nicer elsewhere. Overall expectations were more than crippled by staff allowing illnesses in that way into the restaurant and the strain of illness so clearly really bad. The food is better anywhere we couldn't wait to leave and left really disappointed we won't be returning. A really awful experience just hope all the dinners live...
