I have been here many times, day time business meetings, evening drinks, office parties, it has always been great. However the experience last night was very different. 4 of us had been having drinks in another local bar in a beer garden and had so far had a very pleasant evening. We decided to go to brew dog but on arrival 2 young guys walked away from the door saying the bouncer had informed them it wasn’t worth waiting. We asked the bouncer if this was correct any it wasn’t worth waiting, he answered ‘all the tables are booked tonight’. So we asked again, does that mean it’s not worth waiting for someone to leave or do you think we should go elsewhere. At this point the bounce quickly escalated to a very aggressive snappy tone waving his arms saying ‘we are full!! We are just full!!’. No obviously due to the current situation in the UK we expected things to be different but this was our first visit since lockdown so we asked how many people they can take at the moment. Even more aggressively he snapped In don’t know!! We are just full!!’ Now excuse me but isn’t it a door persons job to know the capacity of a venue and how many people are in there?? So we asked worded slightly differently ‘what is the capacity here at the moment?’ Once again a very aggressive arm waving response encouraging is to walk away from the building ‘WE ARE FULL OK, WE ARE FULL!!’ The the person we assumed to be the manager came running down the steps in the door way and also aggressively snapped at us ‘IS THERE A PROBLEM HERE?!, WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?’ We looked at him and asked ‘we were just wondering what the current capacity is here that’s all?’ He said ‘68’, so we replied ‘Thank you, that’s all we wanted to know’. At that point the manager calmed down and wished us a good rest of the night. The bouncer being aggressive like that was totally unnecessary but the manager also leading with an equally aggressive tone in an environment where I would think retaining customers is paramount is totally unacceptable.
We all said after this experience we will not return. It’s a shame because 3 out of the 4 of us are business owners and have all taken our teams to brew dog for meetings and Christmas parties in the past but now this venue is...
Read moreVisited this restaurant for wing Wednesday. We booked ahead as it was our daughters birthday and you must book if you want wing Wednesday. Apon arrival to the restaurant we were shown to our table which had our family name and a note wishing my daughter a happy birthday which was quite nice. We placed our order for food and unfortunately from that point forward things took a turn. we waited almost 1 hour for our food to come with no mention that there would be such a long wait for food even after been served by the manager. With kids being with us made it worse as they have no colouring or anything to keep them busy. So it's an extra challenge to keep them from causing havoc. After me and my faience ate our 10 wings I had to go to the bar to order more as no one came to check the table. yep you guessed it another 45 minute wait and even then they brought the wrong ones to my faience. look I get it when its busy you may have to wait but to wait that long without even a glimpse of an apology or maybe a free gesture. After our meal I did call the manager over to speak to him about our experience and explained the above. He was apologetic and offered to let us return and make it right as we had already paid. Gave him my email but not recieved anying as of yet. disappointed in such a big companies behaviour towards customers. Really...
Read moreLiving very close to Buffalo, NY (where chicken wings were invented) for the first 20 years of my life, I can say I’ve had some fantastic wings. Wing Wednesday in Canada (where I’m from) is a tradition where you can have unlimited wings for dirt cheap. When we saw BrewDog promoting unlimited Wings on Wing Wednesday, naturally we assumed to have a similar positive experience. Unfortunately that was not the case. The only chicken wings available are coated in a buttermilk batter (which I unfortunately could not have as I’m allergic), and two Vegan options (Cauliflower and Seitan). There are also only two sauce flavours (Korean BBQ, and Buffalo) which is also disappointing. We ordered the Vegan options as we had no other choice and let me say, it was shocking. My seitan wings were bone dry, with a thick sludge of Korean BBQ sauce hiding underneath (which tasted awful). My partner ordered cauliflower wings with the Buffalo sauce which was alright, but each wing was nearly the size of a tennis ball; making each wing mushy and very sickly. We could only stomach about 1/3 of the meal before asking staff for the bill, leaving hungry and let down. BrewDog, if you’re going to have Wing Wednesday, do it right because this was seriously disappointing. Sad to say but we won’t...
