I have been to COSMOS multiple times for parties and family gatherings and have never had issues in the past. However, this time I decided to go alone with a friend. The reception/greeting team is impeccable and is a great face for the company. It is staff in the dining area that is a huge issue.
Upon eating a plate already, I had decided to get another plate and try my luck with a range of other foods (as you would expect at a buffet) and I began to feel full half way through the plate (prior to eating this I was not full), to which I then stopped. A waitress came up to me and my friend, in a direct, and rude manor explaining about food waste which is a reasonable topic.
However, I was full. For context I had left 1 of their small Yorkshire puddings and a small portion of lasagne which I had half eaten. From this interaction onwards, that staff member was consistently looking at us whilst talking over to their mic to staff at the bar (which we have been sat next to). As you could imagine this whole experience puts me and my friend off eating more food, even though we had 1 hour and 5 minutes left of our table and wanted desert after letting the previous plate digest for a while.
After the hostility of the atmosphere it made us uncomfortable enough to pay and leave. Of course we wanted to share this experience so that management can use this example as a training opportunity for staff on how to word phrases in a friendly tone as myself am a manager and would like to open that opportunity to others in a management position. Although upon asking to speak with a manager the immaturity of staff shew which my friend had pointed that they giggled as the manager left the situation with my friend after paying for the food and waiting from that point to speak with them.
The manager was apologetic, however did not show any sign of coming to a resolution to improve satisfaction. This felt as though he simply did not understand the situation and preferred us to leave and not address a staff discrepency.
I will not come to this restaurant again for this reason and I hope my review also shows the domestic issue with staff and this can hopefully be addressed for a better experience...
Read moreHiya Cosmos Norwich Branch. I am a single mother of 7 lovely cheeky chops. For the triplets birthday , I wanted to go out in style 😎 My kids were begging to go to a open food buffet in the notorious Norwich city where I think Sir Thomas Paine had a close intimate connection toward. Upon arrival, it all seemed like it was going to be a smooth start. Very quickly however things turnt for the worst ( and i mean the worst ). My friend Claudia from Clacton - on - Sea was peanalised for her weight, I mean eyes were on her from the front of house staff in their dickie bows. This made Claudia from Clacton - on - Sea very happy.
Food was (and to be completely honest) average. The chicken nuggets however were the biggest disappointment. They were NOT golden brown like how Birdseye do them.
Alongside disappointment , my new ‘friend’ / co - parent , Samantha coming all the way from the sunny isle of weight came along just because there is no such thing as a Cosmos there I mean it would be absurd. She got plate fulls and chomped up the lot , however there must and I mean there must have been something brewing in that stew hotpot because she was severely drunk. Now thanks to Cosmos Norwich Branch she is a complete no show.
To finish this review, kids were happy ish with their food although the chocolate fountain squirted all in Chelsea’s face towards the end , BUT a big merry thank you to the small ish staff member who politely cleaned her up. I will not be returning and I will stick to my own freezer teas...
Read moreSuperb food quality, and a great atmosphere. Staff do a really good job of keeping food fresh as well. However; due to the time we went, we were one of the last to leave and this did mean certain things were missed, such as - they had frankfurter sausages out caked in oil, but no buns to put them in.
Huge range of food though, and the desserts were especially good.
I could have used my mobility scooter here although it would probably have had to have been put in a corner somewhere whilst we are. I instead used crutches as I was already aware of this, and this was generally okay. However, people are rather discourteous and greedy when it came to foods (despite the fact they were frequently replaced), and this did unfortunately make it slightly difficult for me with the crutches.
There was a huge queue for waiting to pay at the end - probably about 30 minutes long - with only 2 tills. However, we decided to simply wait and have a nice chat until the queue was done and then we left and paid instantly.
Staff were fantastic - making sure I was sat as close as possible and as comfortably as possible.
Highly recommend - just expect a lot of hustle and bustle.
Knocked a point off for atmosphere - whilst atmosphere itself was fine; the tables themselves are extremely tight and crammed in - meaning I was practically tapping elbows with the person (stranger) I was sat next to. This felt awkward but also as though me and my partner couldn’t have a conversation without being...
