On the 30/5/25 I went to Eaton Park for the first time. I saw the chalkboards advertising food. bacon baps, jacket potatoes etc. At first I thought it would be another crappy park cafe serving up subpar food. However, upon closer inspection I discovered things like Mediterranean hash, beetroot salad etc. The inside of the cafe was inviting and aesthetically pleasing. I ordered the Moroccan eggs, my husband got the BLT and a fried egg bap for the boy. We were all VERY happy with our purchases. My husband said he'd never had such a perfectly balanced BLT before in his life. The bread was perfectly soft and all the flavours blended together to create a perfectly delicious mouthful each time. The Moroccan eggs (halloumi on sourdough, with roasted red peppers, hummus and two perfectly poached eggs) was just divine. Such a perfect balance once again of flavours. Delicious flavours. If only I didn't live 4 hours away I'd be treating myself weekly to the delights of the Eaton Park Cafe. Thanks for not being another crappy Park cafe. Will return next time I'm in Norwich. Staff were friendly and helpful when we changed our minds where...
Read moreStill "politely" requesting that you wear a mask, but done in a passive aggressive way that means you know they'll insist. I went in and was immediately barked at to wait outside as there was a whole one other customer paying. Someone else then told me to come in, even though said other customer was still at the counter. Ordered the food, pretty grumpy sullen service. Food was ok for what it is. They seriously expect you to follow a one way system out of the outdoor seating when you're finished. That's sort of OK, but if you go to the toilet and want to come back to finish your food they want you to wait in the service queue and come through the cafe, rather than just walk in the gate in the fresh air 🤪. Given they are so hysterical about having people in the building that's mental. They need to ditch the masks and covid nonsense, and try to be a bit less miserable. Unsurprisingly there were lots of signs trying to recruit staff, who the heck wants to be forced to wear a stupid mask all day for a few...
Read moreGreat little café in the middle of the best park in Norwich. Decent space outside for kids. Reasonable menu choice for adults and caters very well for vegetarians. Good to just have tea and cake or toasted tea cake. Not the best selection for children. They do half size baked potato with fillings and they have pre filled rolls (ham, cheese, tuna etc). They have juice boxes and nice little pots of regional ice cream. Moderately expensive (£7 for posh sandwich and salad). Have table service which is handy, but it's quicker ordering at the till when they are busy. You have to climb 3 steps to get to the cafe, and the door into the cafe and out to the outdoor seating (further 3 stairs down) is not very wheelchair or pushchair friendly but there is usually very friendly staff who will help you if you are struggling. It's a very popular place with families and often very busy at lunch time, especially at the weekend or school holidays. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the park and...
