Partner and I ordered on Thursday night, ate our pizza, and subsequently have both suffered food poisoning over the weekend. We know 100% that this was the papa johns simply due to it being the only meal we have shared and both eaten in the past 6 days due to awkward working hours.
Called up and asked to speak to a manager to inform them, asked a few questions about their food hygiene practices, to which I was told that chicken etc is replaced/binned every couple of days if not used which frankly I now doubt. 🤢
Then asked for any form of compensation such as a side or pizza next time we ordered, due to the quite frankly horrific weekend we had both endured due to this establishment, and it’s hygiene — at which point I was told I should produce a doctors note to prove what I had said?
As a manager of any establishment, the report of food poisoning should be extremely alarming, but it really did just sound like this was another walk in the park for this employee, having been loyal customers since discovering we could order papa johns to our house, it is a huge let down to be treated this way and disregarded.
Posting this as a warning to anyone considering ordering from here, please do ensure that when they poison you, you have your gp on standby to prove what they have done. Would also be quite handy if they included a 9 pack of Andrex with any order placed, then atleast you will be covered for the inevitable shitstorm headed...
Read moreDO NOT ORDER FROM HERE Ordered over an hour and a half ago, the app told me it had "been delivered" over an hour ago. When I rang up 45 mins after ordering they said it was just coming out of the oven... Another 20 minutes he says it's on the way and nearly here.. another 15 mins he says it's outside... It isn't. He offers zero explanation for why it's late and just keeps saying sorry you can send us an email about it. It's now been 45 minutes since he told me it was coming out of the oven.. but claims it will be hot (if it ever arrives). My partner has to be up early for work tomorrow and this is just bloody ridiculous for a £30+ pizza order.
Edit to add: still no sign of pizza, and the guy on the phone was extremely rude to me rang. I was passed onto a second member of staff after the first ignored me, he said nothing, I explained the problem and he replied with 'are you done? You're continuously talking'... I only explained the situation to him because he didn't seem to know. He told me some story about their driver being pulled by the police and continued to make me feel bad for asking for a refund. I will be seeking one regardless. The pizza will no doubt be stone cold, IF it ever arrives... 1 hour 50 mins and counting...

Never have I had so many issues with orders not having the correct toppings, correct sides and not coming with dips when they have been paid for an ordered.
When you call to raise an issue your met with a rude ignorance that can only come from a store ran by a manager who has no care for their customers.
Being told the manager would call back to correct the issues and waiting over 40 minutes, then to be told we couldn't have the correct pizza because amazingly the 1 hour long wait for the pizza and then the 40 minute wait for the call we had become hungry and eaten some of the pizza.
The bottom line is Papa John's pizza is the best take away pizza from a big chain but unfortunately the manager of this particular branch is as useless as they come and the staff working for her are unfortunately not much better due to their poor training.
Customer service sucks and I hope that one day someone from head office might take notice and get rid of the incompetent chimp who...
