McDonald's — Restaurant in Norwich

This review is based on one visit only.

Giving a one-star review is normally the job of a disgruntled former employee or someone who expects way to much from an eatery.

Today, though, it is from a customer who previously has enjoyed visits here, and I'm sure will again in the future.

We arrived in the car park, got out, and headed to the doors. We were greeted by what I can only assume was a manager, who said that he'd had to close the doors due to IT issues inside. There were customers eating inside, so it was a bit of a bizarre move.

The drive-through was still in use, he said, and so we hopped back in and drove around. Long story slightly shorter, the wrong item was added to the order, which was then removed, then I was told I could not have a bacon double-cheeseburger as a meal. Normally, I wouldn't mind that, but as we weren't even let in, and issues had been caused to customers, I sought some good old-fashioned customer service by asking for then to include my choice in a meal, to appease us. Call me unreasonable, but if it were me on the other side, I'd be trying to make the customer happy.

Told a second time that it wasn't optional, I decided to leave.

Customer service isn't that difficult.

Will I return? Given a few different options of locations, I'm more likely to go...

Ordered food, sat down and order arrived at table, minus one complete meal for our son....wanted sauce that they normally give you, they wouldn't and we had to place a separate order for two sauced. Started tucking into meal which although we customised (so supposedly cooked fresh) was barely even lukewarm. Filled in survey on receipts whilst we were there, to claim money off further food, and as someone was still hungry, went to order more items from their computerised self service ordering point.....code was coming up as already used!!.....go to till to sort out....received order, which once again was cold, with a portion of missing fries, resulting in yet ANOTHER visit twitho the counter. Burger bun had a chunk out of it, like someone's bite marks, with a chunk of bun missing. Someone came over to see how the meal was, and at this point we called to see manager. Whilst we were waiting for manager, we overheard a staff member moaning about us, saying that normally they put slugs in the food of "people like us" Fuming!!!! Complained to manager about food, and were given a couple of free deserts. Meal was pretty nasty, and i have been left with a dodgy stomach all afternoon. Got our order wrong, twice.

We explained clearly what had happened and what was wrong several times, they eventually understood and the young girl replied with, "oh, that would explain all the extra food we have ready".

It would explain it, but then we were given a bag with a single burger and pack of nuggets in, not the three meals we had missing.

Found the staff lazy, slightly rude, and simply not interested.

Also, the drive thru situation where they send at least half the cars to wait out the front is ridiculous and should have been addressed when they were closed for a 'refurb'.

A maximum of two cars can fit there, often 3 or more trying to squeeze in, cars pulling into the McDonald's car park then pass in front of them and there's almost always a near miss as the cars that have waited for their food pull away at the same time.

Then add in all the deathwish delivery drivers on their little mopeds, who just fly in without looking what's happening in front of them, and you'll end up with someone seriously hurt one day.

Stop the staff smoking and vaping in the corner of the car park and make that designated waiting bays, since the staff never seem able to keep up and always send you away when you go through the drive thru, even for a...
