A year or so ago I came to Norwich for the first time with my friends. After hearing our favourite podcasters talk about how much they loved the murderers, we of course had to have a look.
I can happily say it’s a very lovely place. We spoke to a guy behind the bar about said podcast and he loved the fact he got so many fans coming in. Turns out this man was the famous Phil (the owner)!! He even showed us around and told us all about the history of the place, he was genuinely a great guy. We stayed for some food and then bought some merch!!
A few months later, I ended up moving down to Norwich from Manchester because I loved Norwich so much. One day I found myself stuck in the centre with a dead phone battery and no money. I tried to look around the city for a place to charge my phone. As expected, most places said no. Losing hope, I walked up to the murderers. I asked one of the bartenders and he instantly said yes and put my phone on charge. As I stood there waiting nervously around a group of grown men watching football, the bartender asked if I wanted some water or anything. He made me feel very comfortable.
I’ve never written a review for any place so you know this is truly meaningful. I fully...
Read moreVisited on Wed 18/9/13 at approx 7.30pm. Interesting surroundings, very good beer selection. However, most disappointed with service - took over 20 mins to get served, even tho' the pub wasn't particularly crowded. The main reason was the staff, both of whom concentrated on serving one end of the bar, and only gravitated to my end by the hand pumps to pull a pint (even then I felt invisible, as I was unable to catch their eye). As a result, every time someone came up to the bar at the other end, they served them immediately, without looking round to see who was already waiting. I was close to walking out, but having waited so long, decided to stick it out. The contrast with the Trafford Arms could not have been more marked - the service was friendly and efficient, even when having to deal with additional food orders as...
Read moreStaff are lovely but that is about it. On entering the Pub all we could smell was the toilets and my English breakfast off the brunch menu was awful. The bacon was dark brown and rock hard, the poached egg was just about raw and the baked beans were stone cold and the sausage looked like it had been cooked the day before and then mildly heated in a microwave. I asked for and got a refund but the fact is food of this very poor quality should not be leaving the kitchen in the first place. There is also the risk of giving customers food poisoning so management needs to get a grip of there Kitchen before they end up in trouble. Won't be recommending or eating...
