We went to the wallow for a few evening drinks and food. We sat upstairs next to the self-serve wine area. I thought this was a great idea to add extra flair to the night. We also tried some gins which were very good, I highly recommend the raspberry gin. The barman was very knowledgeable and made some good recommendations about flavours and mixer pairings. I was very impressed by the food, it really exceeded my expectations. The portions were a very, very good size for the price, which I was really over moon about. It was very fresh, you could tell just made a moment ago, great flavour, just so delicious. It really made the night to feel that they really care for their guests. The staff were really friendly and attentive, really great service, you can tell they really care about their business. The atmosphere was great too, good music, a very buzzing atmosphere, everyone was so happy and laughing, it was a lovely place to spend a few hours. Will definitely...

This is our favourite place in Norwich. Open fire, sofas, friends themed fridges, help yourself wine and fantastic customer service. It is like hanging out in our friends in living room. We love that you have opened this special bar in the heart of Norwich. The food is delicious (cheese board is just what you fancy when drinking this lovely wine) the bar is always warm, the prosecco is really reasonably priced. The wine on offer is fantastic and the staff and owners are amazing. I would recommend The Wallow to anyone. I am only sad that now everyone will know how fantastic The Wallow really is. Thank you for always looking after us Alice and Co.

Quick side note - I think it is very odd for people to comment on a wine bar they have never actually entered before. Perhaps you could give The Wallow the chance to really wow you. Once you have been in you will never want to leave. The above comment comes across jealous and is in no way constructive to the...

This place fancies itself and is quite fancy, and the prices reflect this. While they have the self service wine I didn’t actually see anyone using it and that was on a busy Saturday night. We had a table booked and for a Saturday evening I would suggest you book ahead as they were turning people away until 9pm. The food was nice, basic but nicely done. The service was the biggest let down for me. It wasn’t that it was bad, it was just slow. To the point where everyone on the table starts doing the meerkat looks to try and catch the waiting staff’s attention. When they did turn up, they were very welcoming and friendly. Overall, this place is nice for something a bit special (they have bottles of Dom Perignon in the fridges) but I wouldn’t rush back as Norwich has so many other great...

Looks like a cosy little find sadly we were mistaken. The wine vending machines seem to cheapen the whole affair and it's not cheap prices either. The decor is nice. The menus are listed in the characters of friends from the American sitcom for no reason at all. When we asked do you have Gluten Free the waiter was proud to say yes. But eating lumps of cheese sans bread is not my idea of Gluten-free. It's all just a little weird. The music lept from Dolly Parton to ACDC like a quantum leap . The food preparer wasn't wearing an apron and failed to wash her hands after sneezing she did have blue gloves on but for the 30 minutes we were there and the 5 dishes she prepared she did not change her gloves. Good luck with that uncontaminated vegan dish or gluten free 🤨 The wine choice is great though. 🍷

Wow! Please go here. Wish I had taken some pictures that shows atmosphere and ambience of this place. We arrived without a booking on a Saturday, but were greeted and taken to a table immediately. The server asked if we minded being in the basement...but the basement was so nice and quiet. One other table of people down there and perfect for us. He explained they needed to have the table back at 6pm - no problem for us - it was only 4pm. They kindly gave us a 30 minute reminder and found us another table to move to but turned out to be good timing as we ready to go. Lovely service. And the food speaks for itself...really lovely variety, plentiful and fresh. Honestly cant fault this place from staff to drinks to food to atmosphere. Go here now!

Love love love it! Went in the first time this week, I’d never heard of it but it came up on Google maps as a bar near the restaurant me and my partner were eating at. From the moment we entered the staff were lovely. The bar is comfortable but stylishly decorated with two floors of seating. Ofc the interesting concept of the restaurant is the self service aspect where you can add money onto a card and fill up your own glasses from a selection of wine in their machines. But if you’re not ready off that kind of commitment (which we weren’t) they have a wonderful selection of wines from the bar which are reasonably priced. They also offer food which we didn’t try but a nice touch.
