Ordered food from here in the beginning of the month and it was well cooked but my sister noticed that the head of the fish had the dirts inside. I then ordered again yesterday but this time the food was terrible, uncooked. My sister spoke to the lady on the phone that the last time they had the dirt inside the fish and that they should clean the head of the fish before serving it but she said ‘no that’s how we make it’ with attitude. I don’t eat unclean fish, if some people like the dirt inside, I don’t. There should be options available to customers but they only want to run a business in one way with so much attitude like you are begging them for food. I and my sister been going toilet since last night. The fish this time smelled because of the combination of dirt and vegetable. If fish isn’t cleaned properly, it can lead to food poisoning. I drive all the way from Derby to come buy food and the lady have no manners. I don’t know if it is a Ghanaian thing but I don’t eat unclean head of fish and I believe that the dirt is part of what caused the fish to smell and run our belly. You need to do much better with customer service and do better at cleaning the fish or remove the head if a customer say they don’t want it.
There should be options for customers who don’t want the dirt in the fish. Your restaurant is open to all Africans and I came in because you have Nigerian flag but I don’t eat unclean fish. You need to do something about the lady that have no manners. I would recommend some customer care service training for her to learn to...
Read moreI have been ordering from and dining at African Base for at least a year now and at this point, I doubt I'll be getting food from there again. Their service is the absolute worst and the wait time for food (especially during the weekend) is insane. You have to wait for at least an hour most of the time. They also have no orderly way of keeping tabs on orders so sometimes you have to ask or remind them of your order. My partner called just yesterday to place an order for pick-up, and the lady that took the order was having a conversation with someone else while taking the order, which is COMPLETELY unprofessional. When he went to pick up the order about 45 minutes later, it turned out that the lady had not even made the kitchen aware of it so we ended up ordering food from somewhere else. With this approach to business, I doubt that this restaurant is going to grow. They have personally lost me and my partner as customers because we've have enough of this behaviour and we've even personally complained to the manager about their service before (which obviously yielded no positive results). Apart from their service and wait times, their food is quite good and the portion sizes are reasonable hence my 2...
Read moreThe food is amazing!!! Proper African food. The portion is more than enough. My husband and I couldn't finish it, had to ask to take the rest home, and we didn't have to wait a long time for the food to come. It was very quick. I do not give a 5 stars review because the service wasn't good. As we arrived we weren't welcomed to seat nor taken to our table. We just stood there until I went and asked one of the staff if we could sit. When we finished our meal and asked to take the rest home they packed it and we were looking forward to eating it later on when we were hungry again but, to our surprise, when we got home and opened the pack, we saw that they only packed two of the three dishes that we ordered. The third one they left it there. We called to see if there was something they could do and they apologised and told us that it was a mistake, they forgot to pack it, but we don't believe that. I was really upset because it was a good amount of delicious food that we paid for and really wanted to eat later. Moral of the story: CHECK YOUR BAG TO CONFIRM YOUR ORDER BEFORE LEAVING THE RESTAURANT. Overall, it is indeed a good restaurant with easy access, but they need training on...
