Small Food Bakery tops the list of good experiences we've had while living in Nottingham. We're big city Canadians into food. Subpar baking just seems wrong once you taste their bread. Their fancy butter, their custard tarts, and their donuts are subjects of obsession. Some of the best meals we've had in Nottingham were served during the casual, yet excellent, Small Food Suppers on Thursdays. I regularly order delicious cakes from them for birthdays/special occasions. The hard-working staff are celebrities to us... talented, professional, reliable, innovative, kind. As if it was not sufficiently heroic to keep the bakery's doors open during a pandemic, they started offering absolutely glorious organic fruits and vegetables. They basically saved our lives during the lockdown. It'd been years since I'd tasted tomatoes and herbs like that. The online shopping experience is excellent -- we've encountered zero issues with our orders and never waited in line, not even once. In fact we hardly run into anyone when we collect supplies on Saturday afternoons. With a happy heart and food boxes in-hand, and only when social distancing permits, we sometimes poke our heads into the shop to catch a whiff of poetry and wonderfulness buzzing about the bakers as they do their magic. Small Food Bakery folks: you are...

GO! One of, if not THE most welcoming bakeries I have ever been too. During the pandemic the whole team have worked so very hard to keep it that way and it still is, if not an even more special place. And it's not only bread! You can get everything you need for your cooking and cupboards from olive oil to beautiful water kefir, from flour to sublime biscuits, jams, granola, lentils, peas, oats... the list goes on. What makes it so special is that you know where all of these foods and all the ingredients going into everything made there is coming from, from the nourished soil, to the farmer, to the miller and everyone in the food chain to the bakers and then to you. The considerate sourcing and stories told through the food just make it even more delicious! It's impossible not to go and have your spirits lifted by the warm, friendly staff, everything they are doing and creating and of course, all the wonderful food you...

Since it is gaining lot of admiration for great quality and variety, we thought of popping in to find out. And we were not disappointed and true to it's reviews, the bakery had some excellent products all freshly baked. The lovely treats were flying of the shelves as it was lunchtime but we got their just in time to enjoy their delicious vegetarian pizzas featured in the photos. We also had some great filter coffee too, a delicious Christmas blend. Apart from freshly baked breads, they also had some delightful jams and quirky chutneys on sale. And not to forget the yummy cakes, bars, buns. Mostly people were ordering takeaways but we sat down in their cosy little area which is filled with books for you to read while waiting. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, friendly staff and intend to go back to try more of...

SFB is a great-bread beacon that beams so brightly! Everything they bake, from their satisfying and flavoursome breads to their indulgent and luxurious pastries, epitomise the care they take with their ingredients, and the high regard that they have for their suppliers. I love this. I have huge admiration for the SFB team of dedicated true artisans working tirelessly to produce bread of such high quality. I thank them all for my modest purchases, and I look forward to being able to sit at a table, sip a coffee and wallow in the heady pleasures of baking bread!!!!

It's a great place to take a rest that is quiet and relax. There are options of sourdoughs, sweet and savory. Some vegetables and cheese can find in the shop. Rye sourdough (small) £3.5, the bread contains high moisture and a little hint of sour from the nature of the dough. I take it with avacado, cheese, and jam that are fantastic. Definitely I will try other products next time. Besides, there are a small garden and a gallery in the building. Moreover, a coffee shop is behind, people can choose their desired treats in front, move back to order a coffee.
