So we called in for breakfast...we had full English and "American style" pancakes with bananas and syrup I have as a bit disappointed in the quantity ...but the food was delicious ....there was only 1 sausage 2 bacon rashers a small pot of beans 2 poached eggs and 2 mushrooms and half a tomato ...if I'd had double everything I would have considered it value for money...I would describe it as a half full English! The toast was normal sliced bread ..I ordered more toast but wasn't sure if I'd received it ...since there were only 2 thin slices on my plate. The pancakes were small and flat ...not fluffy like American ones I've had and syrup is syrup and a banana is a banana no matter what country You're in...all quite un remarkable really. The Americano coffees we had were nice, strong and hot but the cream I asked for was in the smallest jug I'd seen since my sister played with a dolls house...they brought me more on request. The staff were very nice and welcoming despite being busy and were attentive, a credit to the deli! All of this raised the question ...did they sacrifice quantity over quality? I decided that quantity was the loser ..as the quality was still quite high. I totally get that money is tight in the hospitality industry after a rough couple of years ...but despite that ... Suda Deli was busy, which tells me they have a loyal customer base I think it is silly to risk that on an extra sausage ...people still will pay for quality but we insist on value for...
Read moreI’ve come here for years. The food used to be fresh Tapas and really nice. It’s got progressively worst. I went tonight and the food wasn’t good at all. I ordered Panko Prawns and Prawn toast arrived. The waiter told me the prawn toast was panko prawns. Prawn toast had sesame seeds on so not great if you had an allergy. Pizza came out wrong, ordered Margarita and Pepperoni arrived. I had a burger which was terrible. Meat was awful, no tomatoes, no cucumber etc etc, it’s like a cost cutting exercise. The panko prawns and the prawn toast (that came to my table as prawns) were clearly out of a frozen bag, all exactly the same size and shape. Suda used to do fresh prawn tempura years ago and they were great, used to do really nice fresh food, it doesn’t now. It seems to be run by students now who struggle a little with English and the chef didn’t know what food they were sending out (staff very friendly and polite but almost everything was wrong). When the owner was there it used to be decent. The pizza wasn’t bad after it came out wrong but it had pesto drizzled all over it, not ideal if you had allergies again. The manageress tonight has been there for years and is very good but she can’t do it on her own and she currently is doing it alone. Please go back to the Suda of old and I’ll be back, used to...
Read moreI had previously given Suda a 5 star rating but I am reducing it due to the attitude of one particular member of staff who is consistently snooty and rude, if it was one occasion I would let it go but I have now been several times with different groups of people and every single time she behaves poorly and unfriendly, it has been noticed by every single person I've visited with. The last time I was in I ordered a scone and paid extra for cream, when I got the item there was no butter with it, so i requested butter she told me if i had cream i wasn't allowed butter - which made no sense as I'd paid extra for the cream, but her attitude was absolutely appaling! You would think she would want to keep customers happy and for the sake of about 5p the butter would cost,I thought it was very petty and very unwelcoming considering we had just ordered about £70 worth of food and drinks. It's a real shame because Suda is my local cafe/restaurant and all the other staff members are very lovely, but I will not be returning again. I also noticed a few reviews on here make reference to a particular snooty member of staff, I can only assume it's the...
