I normally never write reviews but my experience at Amid Palace has made me want to! I love great food, a clean restaurant, attentive and friendly staff. At Amid Palace I got all that and MUCH MORE. The building itself isn't pretty, it's an old little chef but what you get inside makes up for that! The restaurant looked fresh and clean inside. Toilets outdated but clean. We was greeted so warmly by the staff, afterwards the waiter took us to our table and very courteously laid our napkins for us. We wasn't sure what to order but the waiter explained the dishes to us. The starters were beautifully presented very very pretty! Our trio of samosas were presented so lovely on a wood board, so rustic. The plates were also beautiful, warm to touch, and we loved the fact they handle the plates with a cloth and wipe plates in front and lay them on the table, very clean :) we couldn't help but look under the plates to see where they're from as they seem awfully expensive!!! The mains were just as tasty as the starters. The mini copper pans they use were nice too. Everything is presented ever so well. It certainly matches up to the quality of the food. Desserts were delicious and again the presentation was of fine dining standard! Try the chocolate box and the coconut ice cream which was encased within this ice sphere with edible rose petals. Simple, elegant little treats! We didn't get to try their home made creme brulee as they ran out off it. Wasn't pleased as we love our Desserts! We noticed another table who's desserts came out with fancy smoke. No doubt we shall be back to...
Read moreDespite what some of the other reviews may say, I highly recommend Amid Palace for a great meal and night out. This was our first time visiting and we enjoyed an evening family meal and could not be more satisfied with the establishment itself, the friendly staff, general service and the quality of the food. To start we had a selection of dips with some popadoms followed by our chosen starters from the menu. We then had our main courses and were too full to consider ordering from the dessert menu. So if you are someone who has to have a dessert, don't order too much as the portions are very generous and you may find yourself unable to finish everything. I cannot say what this establishment is like on a weekend as we went on a weekday therefore it was a lot calmer with fewer people at other tables. However, with how spacious the restaurant is, I can imagine it to be a very pleasant experience with the additional atmosphere of other customers present. Thank you to Sophie for making us feel welcomed, being friendly and professional while also taking the time to talk to us after our meal. We will without a doubt be returning sometime soon to enjoy another meal. Five stars all round, no...
Read moreAfter having the trauma of a continuous carvery issue, the boyfriend and i decided to go to Amid Place, like previous reviews have said on the exterior of the building, looks dated and needs some tlc, the interior is very authentic and very well layed out, the waiter was very pleasant and approached us with a smile, we were the only ones in the restaurant (hence the one star, it was peaceful) food and drinks were ordered and with a nice flow, drinks came just before the starter came, very nice poppadoms, and a nice simple selection of chuctneys and dressings for the palette. I had a Lamb Saggwala (my go to curry) boyfriend had a Lamb Rogan Josh both very good quality, both had some bits to share also, all in all if your looking a lovely indian nearby Nuneaton, Amid Place is the go to, after 7 seems to be key if you like a nice quiet...
