We went for my mother's day meal. To be honest the food would be the only reason to return if I did..customer service was not amazing. There was 7 of us with a toddler and a baby in a carrier. They made us sit in a booth which was very cramped. I asked if we could sit at a table which had 8 chairs. He said no. Shortly after we were compressed into the booth a group of 4 men came and sat at the 8 seater table. When food was finally served 2 of us moved to another table as we just could not eat comfortably at all. So the point of having a meal together was defeated 😕. Dinner took a very long time to arrive. We were told when we placed the order that it would take 35-45 minutes as we didn't order as soon as we came in and others ordered before us. That's understood but the rest of our group was yet to join..how could we have ordered?? Atmosphere was not enjoyable..everyone's food was taking long do most people looked bored and fed up. Sound was too loud and the stringy curtain thing on the booths looks awful and tired and gets in the way! Ladies Toilet were clean but no hand-wash. Gents had hand-wash but floor was a disgrace. Overall they are a very busy restaurant with really good food but let down by the snobbiness of the staff and overall atmosphere. The thing is there are many restaurants out there now especially in that area so I would only go if I was in a really good mood and willing to give it a try again. Last time I went here was 5 years ago..gave it another chance..maybe I'll try...
Read moreDisappointing experience at Gourmet. We visited as a family of three and were looking forward to a nice meal. However, the billing process was a major letdown. When it came time to pay, we requested to split the bill, but the staff insisted that we pay it altogether. To make matters worse, they only accepted cash, citing tax reasons as everything is cash only. This was incredibly inconvenient, especially since we didn't have enough cash on hand. When we asked if we could do a bank transfer, they refused. It's frustrating that the restaurant's payment policies seem to prioritize their own needs over customer convenience. As a customer, and it's not fair to expect us to go to the cash machine or be restricted by your payment policies. We hope that in the future, you'll consider offering more flexible payment options and splitting bills for groups. Review your payment policies to better accommodate customers. Consider offering bill splitting and more payment options to improve the overall dining experience and the food was average nothing special. First time trying these guys and will not come back save your money and go Zaraks where they take card and the steaks are much thicker and of quality, nothing can compare to Zaraks steaks plus the service is...
Read moreA recommendation to try this local eatery, which will most definitely not be repeated. My sister having ordered the chicken fajitas, and me ordering the mixed julian chicken beef accompanied with veg , mash and chips. The fajitas being very bland overcooked served with what was supposed represent guacamole, sour cream and chilli. Sour cream tasted of yoghurt with no consistency, and guacamole well cant really call it that.. just a sauce of some sort being water based. For a restaurant referring to themselves as gourmet, and unable to master the art of mash potatoes should reconsider the name gourmet. As the mash had been watered down like the potatoes had been overcooked on the boil and left to rest in h water and mashed without having allowed the water to drain. the beef and chicken with no taste and once again overcooked had I not been hungry and not eaten all day would have been sending this back. The chefs need to reconsider their menus and apply more thought to their food prior to sending this out. A huge disappointment. My sister attempted to share her concerns, where all she had been given in return is a grim look , not knowing what to say. Which shows the lack of understanding required to operate an establishment...
