Indian Ocean Oldham — Restaurant in Oldham

The food as always was really good. We have been coming here for many years but was very disappointed with their attitude and lack of flexibility towards wanting something like adult chicken tikka and chips for one of the adults who doesn't really eat spicy food for which they charged an extra £2.45 on top of the set meal deal price which has gone up to £16.95 a head . Plus we had 2 children with us for who we ordered a children's meal. The children wanted a poppadum each as the adult set meals included that.........they even charged for 2 extra poppadums 90 p each which if that's what they do then that's what they do but there were 6 adult and 2 childrens meals being ordered and paid for plus drinks, you think they could have thrown in the poppadums like other Indian restaurants do for the children who don't eat the chutneys just the poppadums . It's a shame really as they continue to serve good food so I hope they take this constructive...

Ordered a take away online;

Onion Bhaji Mixed Shaslick with Masalla Sauce Chicken Tikka Biryani with Jalfrezi Sauce Garlic Naan Bread

Starter DIDN’t come with mint sauce & salad, meant to be 4 Bhaji’s but were 6 small ones & tasted dry! Shaslick was ok but the sauce was NO WAY a Masalla. It was runny & tasteless not as advertised (creamy thick sauce with coconut delicately blended with aromatic herbs & spices) wasn’t creamy & thick & no taste or hint of coconut!….it was AWFUL!!!!!

Biryani was ok & Jalfrezi was ok also.

Garlic Naan tasted like a plain Naan.

Overall…..not great! Paid just over £27 for it & didn’t enjoy it. It’s a shame as we have dined here in the past, not been here for 18 months or more & similarly ordered takeaway.

Will NOT be going back here after this poor...

3 bites into my popadom and I thought I was hallucinating, but no it was true. Lots of tiny little flies in my face, all around the food totally off putting. Like flies around a dirty old dustbin. When i asked the waiter “do you have a problem with flies?” He hesitated until i pointed out a number of years ago i walked out of here for the same reason. Then he mentioned a problem with fruit flies, said he was sorry and just walked away.

If you like flies in your food this is an excellent place otherwise avoid the flies and all the potential health risks and keep away from this restaurant as they have not intention of resolving this fly issue anytime soon.

Disgusting experience and they still charged us...
