Pure coffee The Boathouse Cafe — Restaurant in Oldham

Nice cafe, beautiful surroundings next to the boating lake at Alexandra Park, the best view of any cafe in Oldham town centre hands down. Seating outside at the front, overlooking the lake, is wonderful in summer. The breakfast butties (sausage bacon egg etc muffins) are very good, the large size is really big, enough for 2 people, or one person who is really starving. I didn't give 5 stars however, because there could be a wider range of low calorie fizzy drinks please. When I am hot and sweaty after a Parkrun (every Saturday at 9am, best Parkrun in the world, in our own beautiful park) I am hankering after an ice cold diet drink. You only have diet coke, and that awful diet oasis in a bottle that is tooth achingly sweet and tastes very artificial. Please stock the fridge with some nice alternatives. My absolute favourites would be diet fizzy vimto or Fanta zero.thank you. Also, the exterior woodwork could do with a repaint if you don't want the wood to...

I recently visited the Boathouse Cafe and had a delightful experience! The staff were incredibly polite and friendly, making us feel right at home. The atmosphere was lovely, creating a perfect setting to enjoy a relaxing break.

The cafe was also very clean, which added to the overall pleasant experience. One of the highlights was the stunning view of the lake, providing a beautiful backdrop while we enjoyed our drinks and snacks.

Many times i've had to clear my table as staff are in the kitchen either busy or busy talking. On a few occasions i have been standing at the counter waiting to be served i have even seen people walk out after being fed up of no staff coming out. They once had a bell to get attention! The setting is great as the cafe is by a lake and on a nice day it is very nice to sit outside and have a drink and something to eat. I think that if the staff had a better attitude then this would be a wonderful place. Until then, only 2 stars. Food is fine if just a bit on the expensive side. Could be miles miles better.
