Virginia Fried Chicken — Restaurant in Oldham

I recently tried the fried chicken burger and a wrap from this establishment and, unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment. The taste was unmistakably off, as if it had been left out for far too long and had gone past its expiration date. The burger emitted an unpleasant stench that made it almost unbearable to even take a bite.

Regrettably, I couldn't stomach more than a single bite before feeling nauseous. As soon as that bite hit my taste buds, my body reflexively rejected it, forcing me to vomit. This was an incredibly unpleasant experience that I wouldn't wish upon anyone.

The overall quality of the burger left much to be desired. The texture of the chicken was also subpar, lacking any crispiness or tenderness that one would expect from a well-made fried chicken burger. Coupled with the off-putting odor and taste, it was difficult to find any redeeming qualities in this dish.

I must emphasize the importance of freshness and proper food handling in any establishment, especially those that serve food to customers. It's disheartening to encounter such an unpleasant and potentially harmful experience.

Ordered food and came to collect it and took home a spicy chicken burger. Opened the burger and it smelt of raw chicken and so I tried calling for 30 minutes straight but they are busy so not their fault but drove 4 miles back up to the shop and asked the member of staff at the counter to smell the chicken and he point blanked refused to acknowledge the smell he took one sniff and he said “this is fine brother nothing wrong with it” when I got 4 members of my family to smell the burger and they all said it’s smelt like raw chicken. Hygiene is a big question mark here but if he just acknowledged that the chicken smelt then I have no concerns as they are trying to fix the issues in my eyes but to blatantly ignore the smell and make it out like the raw smell was okay is what really frustrated me, in the end I just had to walk out as I have lost trust in the takeaway which is a shame as I used to come here multiple times a week. Money waste, time and food...

Lost 12+ Years Loyal Customer. New ownership has resulted in heavy reduction in quality of food, sometimes too disgusting to eat. Constantly forgetting sauces (which aren’t cheap, especially when you’re buying 5+ like us, its the only reason we continued to eat from there after their new downgraded supplier, their hot sauce is top notch tbh) and then when calling up to let them know, they tell you it’s in the meal bag with one of the meals. Seriously? 5 sauce tubs in a meal bag like that won’t spill? They got defensive so I told them this has happened far too many times (it has) and I won’t be ordering from there again. Oh and the food was cold too (commonplace).

Note: the man on the phone is a gent and is not his fault, he was simply just the messenger.

Havana’s is much better quality although sauce isn’t as good as Virginias, still good just...
