If you want overpriced coffee and service without a smile but a pleasing visual aesthetic, look no further. Today I fancied an ice coffee, so, against my better judgement, I thought I would “treat myself” to a beverage from their Specials board. They had a “Iced Spanish Latte” for £5, an extra £1.50 than their regular iced latte. So I go to the till in a cheery disposition and ask the lady what makes the Spanish latte different, and she replies flatly “condensed milk”. That’s it. No “good morning”, no extra info, and barely any eye contact. At that point I wanted to leave. £1.50 extra for condensed milk? What the heck is Spanish about condensed milk? Every nation on earth has condensed milk and it’s hardly an expensive or premium product… but I was already at the point of sale so the British in me couldn’t simply walk away. So I paid £5 and got my drink shortly after, again from the woman whose customer service skills belong in back of house for sure. The drink itself was literally condensed milk at the bottom and a coffee shot on top with ice. Not mixed together at all and this is the issue with condensed milk it’s sticky thick and sweet so it doesn’t mix easily and as I tried using the straw to mixed it and scrape the condensed milk off the sides of the cup, the paper straw quickly fell apart and my sips of the drink were either bitter coffee or super sickly sweet condensed milk chunks. Only when I got home and could take the straw out and mix with a spoon was it a serviceable drink and even then why… for the love of all things good in the world did I spend £5 on a coffee shot and condensed milk in the...

I thought I’d enjoy an early coffee at this café this morning. Walking to the counter feeling in a positive mood I smiled at the member of staff whose job it was to serve me only if you met by what could be described at best as indifference and certainly no facial expression close to a smile. At that point, my feeling of contentment vanished. After having taken my payment, there was no further interaction from the member of staff who served me, neither a thank you nor even further eye contact. I concluded therefore that in order to receive my coffee I should then wait at the counter. In due course, my coffee arrived, it was delightful. I decided that it would be nice to sit outside and enjoy my coffee so I walked towards the terrace at which point I was met by a selection of wet table tops. Fortunately, the seats were actually dry. I was however briefly, pleased when the lady who had served me emerged from the café and asked another customer if he would like his table wiped she then proceeded to wipe another table but decided to stop short of wiping my table. I then gave the member of staff the benefit of the doubt, concluding that she was going to wring out her cloth and come back with a dry cloth. Sadly, this wasn’t to be the case because the member of staff decided for some inexplicable reason that I was not worthy of a dry table. I finished with my coffee having enjoyed it but left feeling really quite aggrieved by the disrespectful and rude attempt at service provided by the...

My favourite coffee shop in Oxford!!! The coffee quality is top notch :) you can taste the coffee even in caffe latte and it is just exceptional taste. Red honey is my favourite but their limited editions are fantastic as well. Their lunch deal of sandwich, fruit and ice cream deal is fantastic too!

Their various brewing techniques make me so happy and always enjoy trying different methods :) Japanese syphon is really smooth and really great for sharing as well. I love the care that goes into each cups and other items in the shop is really good as well. Focaccia was phenomenal and their hot chocolate is a must try :)

I have not tried the pizza yet but would love to try them in the future :) it would be interesting to see if the sandwiches can be made warmer and the coffee beans prices are steep for students so having some discounted coffee beans per month could be nice since I cannot buy them every month due to high price. It will also be lovely if we can bring back the coffee bags for refill so that we can get some discounts this way. Highly recommend and will be back...

Update: The place is always buzzing which is great, but if you start putting too many rules (e.g. don't use laptops, don't stay too long ..etc) it is not very welcoming and people will eventually be turned off. Did you consider that those who stay longer can order more than once ? Lovely little coffee heaven tucked in the less busy side of Summertown Oxford. They are serious about coffee here! Robust and deep flavour, aiming for quality over quantity (so don't expect the Starbucks and Costa Grande or Large sizes). Avocado toast was so fresh and olive oil on top was just pure goodness. I tried also the cheese and spinach omlette before and was equally decent. It gets a bit stuffy sometimes with many people in, but they have a nice seating area outside which is nice in summer (couldn't brave it in the winter). Their Xmas chocolate offering boast an impressive variety, sadly all loaded with alot of sugar. Staff are generally friendly.

I felt like I was treated differently because of my ethnicity. I ordered four drinks, but one was not charged and made. When I pointed it out, the staff responded it’s not available instead of apologizing. If it wasn’t available, why didn’t they tell me when I placed an order? Later, I ordered another coffee, and even after waiting a long time, I had to go back to the counter. Only when I returned to the counter again they slowly started making it, while chatting with other customers as if I didn’t matter. The entire experience felt dismissive and passive-aggressive. I was made to feel like an inconvenience. Their dismissive attitude felt racially motivated. Very uncomfortable, embarrassing and disappointing experience. I would never recommend this place.
