Kirsten Peters is definitely not the only person who has suffered from the unacceptable policy of drew drop. Despite the fact I had my French driving license, my French ID and my European social security card, I didn't manage to get a drink for my friend and I. I felt insulted from the first very minute when the waitress was looking at me in a mean way because I couldn't understand what she was saying because it was too noisy.. obviously, she couldn't handle having to repeat twice her sentence. After having discussed 5 minutes (I was in my right based on the European law), a very kind man stepped in and offered to pay for my drinks and the waitress refused.. It was very rude and insulting considering she didn't check the ID of the man and of the person he was buying a drink for.. it was just rude. You will say it does not reflect your view about brexit and I would never critisize your views about brexit anyways as I respect the right of people to think what they want to think.. but brexit has not happened yet and I would be ashamed if I were you to treat people the way you do.. it applies to both the owner and the waistress.....
Read moreOur last visit to this pub was one of the worst experiences. My PhD colleagues and I used to come here for a pint and dinner after training badminton nearby, but the last time they did allow us to stay. We were all served a first pint, but when we tried to order food, one of my friends was required to show prove of age since she looks under 25 (she’s not), she showed the BRP card, an official ID issued by the the British govt, which displays the DoB. But they alleged that it is not a valid ID here (!?), and she had to leave because after 7pm minors are not allowed to stay in the premises. Their policy is however completely incoherent, there were children inside the pub right next to us (picture attached), also they had served us beers just few minutes before, and in any case, they should’ve checked out IDs at the entrance if they want to be completely strict about this ID eligibility policy. The worst part is not even that, but after we decided to leave, they didn’t want to reimburse the money for the food and beers we just ordered. We literally had to argue with the manager to get our money back. The worst pub I’ve...
Read moreThe Dewdrop is my go-to spot whenever I’m in the area. It’s got everything you want in a good pub—friendly staff, chill atmosphere, and solid food. The outdoor space is great for a sunny day, and even when it’s busy, there’s usually enough room to snag a seat.
The menu’s got all the pub classics, and they’re done right—nothing too fancy, just good, honest food. The drinks selection is decent, with a good mix of beers and wines, and there’s always something new to try. Plus, the staff are super friendly and make you feel right at home, which is always a plus.
I’ve been there for trivia nights, casual drinks, and just about everything in between. It’s one of those places where you can pop in for a quick pint or settle in for a longer hang without any fuss. If you’re around, definitely give The Dewdrop a shot—it's got that nice, laid-back vibe that keeps you...
