Corner House — Restaurant in Oxford

Been here 3 times now and today was my third. The previous two times have been okay however, today was dreadful and I’m not sure I’ll be returning. Came to watch the football and was instantly asked if I wanted a drink to which I replied with “I will once my mate comes if that’s okay” (he was 10 minutes away). The presumed landlord of the pub then said to me “Well you need to of your staying”. Never have I ever been spoken to like this before in a pub by anyone never mind the owner. I came in here a few weeks ago to watch the formula one with a few friends and the way in which we were spoken to was very rude I felt. We had just sat down when we was told that sky sports isn’t free and that we must get a drink so we said that we’d just take our jackets off and we’d be up to order. A few minutes passed when we were then told that it’s not ‘table service’ in a very sarcastic manner. Went into this lovely pub this evening the atmosphere was so lovely and welcoming. Myself and partner had some delicious food, normally we come here every week Sunday dinner which is amazing and yummy size. We decided to come during the week to check out their new menu that came out this week. We had the chicken tandoori kebabs, outstanding, loads of flavours, excellent portion size..its was gone is a few minutes.a place of comfort, amazing food and excellent atmosphere.
