We had never been to this pub before-I only chose it as it was a halfway meeting point so my brother could drop off my parents to travel back with me.The pub we usually use was closed...their loss but P.O.W gain as we will definitely be using them from now on! I almost forgot to take a photo of my meal...Halloumi & Avocado salad ..which was delicious.(Please note the photo is after I had started to tuck in!) My parents & brother chose food from the Senior menu which they all enjoyed.Good portion sizes and well presented. We received great service from landlords/hosts Bruno & Anna...at the bar & in the restaurant..nothing was too much trouble-they even remembered me phoning prior to our visit to make sure they were open. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and we got the impression it was a really well cared for & well run pub....hence the 5 stars! There is only 1 problem....its too far away to be our local!! We al agreed that we wished we had a pub like this on our doorstep... Hopefully we can visit again when I next collect my parents for a holiday with us!

I received a lovely welcome for my two dogs and I at The Prince of Wales pub in Horspath road, Cowley, today. They even provided a bowl of water for the dogs. The pub has been recently refurbished. There is a nice seating area outside, too, which will be good in summer. There is a park nearby on Horspath road with a children's playground and large enough for a quick dog walk. The pub is a 10 minute walk from Marsh Park and around 15-20 minutes from Brasenose Woods over the bypass, where you can continue to walk up to Shotover nature reserve.

Service was the best, wow , the breaded brie wedges was so lovely, turkey meal was delicious , veg perfect , dessert spot on , a group of 4 , nothing left on all 4 plates and very full tummy's ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. Service excellent, lovely friendly staff, christmas table setting and even a cracker . Very friendly pub ๐Ÿˆ. Would love a second Christmas dinner ๐ŸŽ„.

Came to Oxford for a 2 month holiday with my mum and son, the Prince of Wales was local to where we were staying. This was our first English pub experience and wow! It kept us coming back for more. My mum ordered the fish and chips and rates it highly. They have a choice kids menu with lots of choice options! My son ordered the fish fingers and was obsessed ๐Ÿคฉ it came with corn and hot chips. I would recommend any of the chicken dishes especially the hot honey burger ๐Ÿคค. This pub is dog friendly and would always offer water to our puppy. We would love to say thank you to all the staff that work there in particular Tom and the owner Ana! You made our pub experience really warm and welcoming. If/when we come back we will definitely be calling in. Canโ€™t recommend this enough A++ Leah,...

Very very disappointing today. Booked for 10 people. 3 of us went up to order food at same time with same table number and they knew we were altogether. 4 starters were ordered , 2 came out and waited another twenty minutes for other 2 after we had to ask. 6 mains came out at same time and again we had to wait for 4 and ask quite a few times. One person wanted a pudding, went up to order to be old chef was on a break so couldn't order it. People who had the beef were very disappointed, fatty, chewy and overdone. On menu says served pink!! This was for my mums birthday as this pub is local to her. We definitely won't be going again as no apology or offer of a free drink for the...
