We were staying in a hotel near the train station outside of central Oxford and this gem exploring the area. We were looking for a spot for Easter supper and this place was perfect. I ordered the roasted lamb with vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. The lamb was flavorful and delicious. The peas, carrots and broccoli were fresh and had a good bite. I particularly liked the char on the potatoes and parsnips, adding some sweetness. The brown jus brought it all together. It was my first Yorkshire pudding and it went well with everything. As a side accompaniment, we had the entree size mac and cheese. I wish so much we had this in the U.S. instead of the common variety macaroni. Here the macaroni is beautifully enrobed in that gorgeous cheese and bechamel sauce. It’ll be hard to go backwards. I had a crisp and cold apple cider from the tap to go with the meal. To fellow travelers please come here for your next meal if you can to get some great local fare and a fun atmosphere. The folks...

We have eaten here several times before, but were disappointed last night. Firstly - the menu: I enquired about the veggie kofta, only to be told it's never been available at The Hollybush..... When I enquired why it was on the menu therefore, I was told it's part of a nationwide offering from this chain but the Hollybush has never served it. Naively, I had thought it was an independent pub. The pizza selection has changed drastically - and not for the better, in our opinion. Most things were 'fusion', no classics.... 4 of the 12 options featured plant-based cheese, which isn't appetising for most people! Two of our group went for the Massaman curry, with chicken. The chicken was very overcooked and there was almost no sauce. (They did bring extra sauce, on request, and the marinated anchovies which we added to one pizza improved things a bit), but generally, we were very disappointed, compared to...

Been bringing my games group here now every Tuesday for the past few months and moving to the Holly Bush was the best decision.

I want to give a shout out to Rob, I think it's important to note in a pub environment that Rob has made us feel safe, we have had issues with another person and upon informing Rob about this, he has made sure to protect us and bar that person from the pub. I think it's very important for customers to know that they can feel comfortable and safe in a pub and that the staff will look after you if you have an issue like we had.

Outside of this, the food is amazing, tbh part of why we picked the Holly Bush was hearing about their amazing pizza oven and it did not disappoint, we've had amazing pizzas here. They are also very accommodating for our group for various dietary requirements including vegan options.

All in all, we're very glad to have made this pub our weekly...

Pros: Dog friendly, good pizza Cons: You have to go through an elaborate process, giving your phone no., postcode, email address, gender, d.o.b., etc., etc. to get access to wifi. Then, to order a drink or food, you have to set up an account, which involves giving your phone no., postcode, gender, d.o.b., etc. etc. all over again, and a password. I did all this. The first drink I ordered took about 10 mins to get from the bar to my table (10 yards), even though it was not busy, and staff were chatting to each other. By the time I was ready for a second drink, the app had to be re-initiated, by re-entering my email address, password etc. Then the drink they brought was the wrong one, but I decided to just accept it instead of go through more hassle to get their mistake corrected. I won't be going back; the pizza wasn't *that* good!

Situated on the Osney Island in Oxford, it's one of the two pubs for the islanders. In addition to being a warm, cozy and lovely public place, it also hosts Pub Quiz on Wednesdays; has a fantastic Sunday lunch menu and a pizza menu (2 for 1) on Mondays. They have a good selection of pizzas, including vegan options. On Mondays, you can enjoy two delicious and fresh pizzas for just £ 10. There is seating area in the open (small) as well as inside. Few cons : service is slightly slow (waiting times tend to be longer than the expected time shown at the time of ordering) and drinks are a bit expensive (can understand that !)
