Just had a lovely evening at Gio Recchia! We chose two classic pizzas (one margarita and one bufala) with a green salad and a house red and everything was spot on! Really light pizza base, a simple but tasty topping and a drinkable wine to enjoy it with. Lovely service too.

We’ve been lucky enough to have two authentic Italian pizzas in the last week - one in Naples where we queued 40 mins to get ‘the best pizza in Napoli’ and this pizza in Pembroke…..and Gio Recchia’s was the better of the two!

It’s great that we have this little gem in Pembroke. I really hope it continues to go from strength to strength because, based on our experience tonight, it really deserves to and it also deserves the great reviews.

Pembroke really needs an injection of good quality places to eat and drink (like Rose Cafe which is also great!) so thank you for bringing your expert pizza making skills to this part...

We went here for a couple’s date night and were really impressed. It’s a lovely, modern spot with great views of Pembroke Castle—we sat with a view and it definitely added to the atmosphere.

My partner really enjoyed the lager they had on tap, brewed in Italy—it was super smooth and went down a treat. We both had starters and mains, and honestly, the bread across both courses was incredible—delicious, light, and airy.

The pizza base in particular was probably the best we’ve had in a long time. It almost doesn’t matter what toppings you choose because the base and crust alone are top notch.

A great little place in Pembroke if you’re in town—amazing food and that view of the castle just seals the deal....

Fantastic pizza, the calzone and Zuppla dessert were highlights. Great to see the level of care and attention given to every pizza by the kitchen staff (it’s an open kitchen). Hostess went out of her way to make us feel welcome and was extremely attentive. Very apologetic when we had to wait 5 minutes for our table (I thought 5 mins was already fantastic service given it was a busy Saturday night and they squeezed us in with only an hours notice). To top it off they are dog friendly and even bought out some water for our pooch. We are here for a weeks holiday and might well be back again without the week! Would recommend to...

This was a great little restaurant! My family and I came for dinner last night and all ordered a pizza each. My son, who is 5, had a kids pizza and they shaped it into a bunny for him; a really nice touch. The pizzas were delicious! Especially the sauce- tasted like pizza we have had in Lake Garda, Italy. They were huge! We could have shared. (But then we wouldn’t have had leftovers for breakfast the next day ion our campsite). It was a shame it was so quiet as it definitely worth a visit. (We did arrive fairly early, so hopefully it gets busier later on to give the place a more vibrant atmosphere).

When sorting a day out I was excited to see an authentic Italian pizzeria opposite Pembroke castle! It was worth the trip alone. The pizza was top notch and they were kind enough to vary a pizza to accommodate my fussy child who won't eat tomato sauce! The menu is interesting, they've got the classics then a more experimental side. I opted for the parmigiana which was heavenly. Staff are super friendly, and we spent some time talking to Gio himself, after he'd made our pizzas. We will be back!
