Mehfil's — Restaurant in Pembroke

Let me start by saying it was a mistake to come here, for the following reasons:

We were left waiting before going in. It was like they didn't want us to enter the premises. No acknowledgment whatsoever.

Didn't take our name, address or telephone number for track and trace. Which, given current circumstances, is illegal I'm sure.

No social distancing. We had people coming in/out and we were sat at a table by the front door where takeaway customers were coming and going. It was packed to the rafters at one point with no distancing.

Food was poor. Even had an order wrong and waited 10 mins or so before my wife's correct order came at which point our sides and other mains were cold. Drinks were cheap and flat.

The owner was exceptionally impolite and rude. His whole manner and demeanor was aggressive and angry. We could hear him shouting at his staff for whatever reason we couldn't hear.

When we asked for a discount we asked for a minor discount due to our grievances listed above. He was nasty and aggressive as he told us we were taking advantage.

Customer service was non-existent.

The overall ambience and atmosphere of the environment was just awful. We felt unable to relax and have a good time right from the outset.

This has been one of, if not THE most, awful dining experience I've ever had. It would be difficult to get worse than this. Definitely reporting this place to Covid authorities and environmental agencies. This place doesn't deserve to be in business. If I could give this minus rating I would,...

Food wasn’t edible!

We were on a weekend road trip to Whales from England. After driving and seeing places all day long, we had decided to go to Indian restaurant since we were starving and didn’t want to experiment with different cuisines. We found this place online and thought it looks good so let’s go there!

First thing we felt was cold, I don’t they cared about keeping the place cozy but it wasn’t a big deal since we were there for food! So as long as we get good food, we are grand!

When I saw the dish I’d ordered, I was shocked to see the appearance! It was a chicken dish - but chicken was dry as hell! I barely took small bite of it and it just felt bad, so I didn’t touch a single piece, just pick vegetables and get done with my meal!

Plates were unclean - I mean they did try and keep them clean but they were so old that grease went into cracks of plates which I think is nearly impossible to be cleaned!

Song that they were playing were like laughing matter in the beginning but became like irritating at the end since that music didn’t get along at all with the vibe you expect when go for dinner ( I am Indian myself and I just couldn’t handle that music).

Conclusion - Not recommended. I wish I had seen a review like this earlier so I could avoid spending money on...

We visited this restaurant this evening on the 14th November, we received the worst customer service I have ever experienced. First of all the owner didn't even acknowledge us on arrival it seemed like he didn't want any customers dining in! We were sat right by the front Door which was chaotic as people were back and forth the whole time we were in there. Our drinks were flat and tasted cheap. One of us received the wrong curry and had to wait a further ten mins for the correct one which meant our rice and sides went cold. When politely asking for a discount he was rude and dismissive saying we were taking advange of him. The atmosphere in there was awful from the moment we walked in he was speaking to server rudely and then all we could hear through our meal was him shouting in the kitchen and then customers complaining as they orders were running so behind. He was so rude and angry. Would definitely not recommend eating here. We ended up leaving angry and annoyed which is not what you want on our first holiday this year. It was also over priced and small portions. Owner refused to give us discount and stormed over with card machine. He made us feel very uncomfortable.
