We visited this pub last week for lunch. Lovely location - really close to Pembroke Castle and Mill Pond. The highlight for me, dare I say, was their chicken curry. Most delicious of any curries I’ve eaten at a pub/restaurant in a while! I was pleasantly surprised. Just the right blend of flavours, not super spicy, simply divine. We also tried their chilli con carne and fish cakes which were just as delightful. They had a good selection of beers, service was quick and the staff was lovely. Can’t fault them for anything, really :) The pub is also dog-friendly, which was a huge plus and the main reason we initially selected it for lunch as we were travelling with our dog. The lovely man by the bar fussed over our dog and also gave him some dog treats that were gladly received. All in all, I’d highly recommend Royal George if you’re...
Read moreDrawn here by two things: the historic facade and the fact that it seems popular. Did not book, but were seated promptly. The interior decor looked a little tired and my wife, teenage son and I exchanged anxious glances. "Had we made a mistake" we wondered. We had not. Excellent food served by very friendly staff accompanied by well-kept ales (I had a pint of Hobgoblin and a pint of Wainwright). My falafel wrap was delicious, my son had the veggie curry with half and half, and my wife had the lasagne, commenting that it was a worthy competitor with the lasagne she had enjoyed the day before in a upmarket restaurant in Tenby. Desserts reminiscent of school dinner favourites were a hit. Good honest pub food, well prepared and reasonably priced. A real gem. Will definitely visit again when we next stay in the area. Thanks for a...

My wife thought the stroganoff was about the best she has had, my son polished off the curry and wanted more. I had the burger... it was great. It wasn't just a frozen burger thrown on the grill... it was fresh and wonderful.
Sticky toffee pudding was absolutely incredible. My son said it was the best he has ever had, my wife and I both agreed the custard was by far the best, and the pudding was a very slight second place... in any case, an absolute winner.
I only got one picture. It smelled so good that the family was well into eating before I could even get the camera out.
Would...
