Went in while visiting Penarth, but clear attitude and off atmosphere from the start because we weren't from there/didn't fit the right 'look' of Penarth. Even though the policy was no outside food/drinks (which is understandable), so we were immediately addressed with awful attitude when we tried drinking our own drink. However, we HAD purchased some food/drink, so it was clear we were just not good enough customers for them (even though it was not busy). We weren't even given a chance to explain we had purchased from them and that dietary restrictions meant one person needed to drink what they had brought with them from home. Unfortunately Willmores wasn't serving food at the time, but the wonderful lady server (blonde, working 13/07/25) allowed me to have a bite to eat from the cafe next door whilst enjoying my pint 😊
(FYI don't bother with the cafe next door, terrible, overpriced, un-melted cheese toastie, no other hot food available, mediocre staff)
Definitely will return here, though. If Willmores food is even half as good as the service, I might not...
Read moreWe enjoyed two lovely full Welsh breakfasts here this morning. The staff were friendly and the quality of the food was superb. You could tell the sausages were proper 'butchers sausages', the bacon / black pudding was great and the hash browns were cooked to crispy perfection. It's a nice spot overlooking the playground together with views of the Channel. We both commented it was quite possibly the best cooked breakfast we'd ever eaten. Reasonably priced too.
