I love Penarth Pier and walk there regularly. The cafe is now run by Waterloo Tea rooms which are always enjoyable. The space is wonderful. There is a small cinema and a board outside saying what's on would be great and inviting for impromptu visits. This Pier is a wonderful asset to Penarth and Cardiff and a joy to walk and see fisherman and families. A lovely juice and ice cream bar is on the pier itself serving coffee, tea, and chocolate and milk shakes and chips of course. An old style sweet shop and ice cream cafes all keeps this tastefully uncomercialised for a lovely walk and visit any time of the year. There are art exhibitions and brass bands in the summer time and some Art and Yoga and Tia Chi classes making good use of this beautiful landmark building. 🕊💖🕊

I visited this place having driven past it with a friend and decided I needed to go back for myself with my camera and I wasn't disappointed. The amazing old ironworks for a start are fascinating coupling that with the wooden boardwalk and it's just a magical place. At the end of the pier I came across several fisherman who were really enjoying their time and were more than happy to allow me to take some photographs of them. I looked around the bay and along the coastline and took lots of photographs of the scenery things I would never have seen had I not stopped and taken a walk along this beautiful pier I'm looking forward to going back in the height of the sunshine and taking lots more photographs and just enjoying the view.

I have posted videos with this review and If you love nature this place is worth the visit, I visited here at around 10 in the morning and there were very few people visiting at that time, however, that didn't stay the same for too long as there were a lot of people almost after an hour. The pier itself is beautifully situated and you'll surely enjoy your time there if the weather is by your side. There are various stalls and restaurants to keep your tummy full, there's a public toilet which is free, there's ample parking space. You can have a nice walk down the road, you can go down to the beach and sit and have a chat and overall have a good relaxing time.

Penarth has a wonderful example of a well-preserved victorian pier. It was only spoilt by the locals who took it upon themselves to try and intimidate me into leaving. I had, hand on heart, missed the signs (in poly pocket, on lampost) that said 'no dogs' (all year round) and was quite prepared to leave when I notice quite permanent, enamelled signs stating 'no fishing' . Yet no one approached any of the 5 fishermen to ask them to leave. The 2 men that approached me were clearly far more comfortable intimidating lone women. I took my photos and left, deciding to have lunch somewhere friendlier and more accommodating.

Penarth Pier is one of my all time favourite places in South Wales. Of course, any Pier one visits will have a lovely view of the sea. Penarth is different in the sense there is an abundance of beautiful scenery. There's cute coffee shops on the pier itself and you can grab an ice cream..plenty of seating. It's is wheelchair and pushchair friendly. Nearby there are plenty of restaurants and bars to grab food and drinks. It is mainly a pebble beach but when the tide is out there's plenty of sand to perch upon. Lovely romantic place!

We had a lovely hour out at Penarth Pier. The pier is smaller than some other famous piers but still manages to house the pier pavilion, the ice cream shop, a cafe and toilets near the pier entrance. There are two sheltered seating areas around halfway along the pier and quite a few other benches dotted along it. We enjoyed a relaxing stroll along the pier and sea front. There is limited parking available here so most people end up parking on the hill and walking down. There are quite a few disabled spaces near the pier.
