Their delivery driver seemed to be somewhat intellectually challenged and I suspect may have had something wrong with him. We live at house number 19; after waiting for our delivery we received a phone call from him stating that he was outside number 20 and had no answer. I told him that this should not be a surprise as we are at number 19. He insisted that the order was for number 20, so I pulled up the app on my phone and confirmed the address to him, which didn't even have so much as a '2' anywhere in either the street name, property number or even the postcode, so where he imagined a '20' from is a complete mystery.
"Oh" he said. "So where are you?"
"19" I say, again, patiently.
He mumbles something, and I realize he doesn't sound particularly competent so I go to the door to try to find him. I then proceed to watch this man, I kid you not, wander around the street in a rather oblivious state, asking random strangers where number 19 might be. Try 'the opposite side of the road', like houses are arranged?
Eventually I wave him over and he blithely approaches, muttering that the delivery definitely said '20' to which I simply shake my head and roll my eyes. He then gives me the delivery, and in the process fumbles his grip on his phone, dropping his phone into the gutter. I just stare at him, trying to figure out how this person is able to survive day-to-day life on his own, or even how he's able to drive a motor vehicle. He gives his phone a 'deer-in-the-headlights' stare, mumbles 'oops' in a manner that isn't so much 'gormless' as 'has never experienced gorm, whatever that might be, in his life' and gathers it up. I watch, quite bewildered.
Okay, enough snark - I know that nowadays people have apps which tell them which way to drive, which way to walk, which way to perform even the most basic of rudimentary tasks, so the process of using one's mind tends to atrophy like any other muscle which isn't exercised. But would it be at all possible to have even a basic lowest-bar level of competency? Perhaps, and I recognise this might be a bit of a high expectation, the ability to recognise what...
Read moreCustomer service is paramount in the service industry. When ordering online from Dominoes the prices you see for their deals are misleading; you don’t actually get a deal. Ordered online tonight and was sat waiting for my order; checked my tracker and to my surprise it said delivered. On ringing up I was told the driver turned up and no one was at home. Why the fudge would I order two pizzas then leave the house??? In the end I’m told, it is either I pick up my order and have my delivery amount refunded or wait for delivery again when they have a driver available. When I got there I was told my pizzas are just coming out of the oven. I would not be ordering from Dominoes again. Their customers service left a bad taste in...
Read moreHad a terrible experience ordering from here. Rang up literally 20 seconds after ordering to amend a mistake, guy on the phone was obviously having a bad night and started to vent on the phone about having too many orders, not enough staff and not enough drivers and my order would take an extra 45 minutes, I said if that’s the case cancel my order and refund me the money, I told him It is not your customers fault that you have staffing issues, he told me I had a stinking attitude and hung up on me. Pizza was still sent out rather than refunded?? Avoid this...
