Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Portsmouth

Ridiculous. Ordered 2 pizzas at 19.22, both with vegan cheese. Got a call from the store at 19.44 saying that they were put of vegan cheese for 1 of the pizzas. I asked to cancel the order and the lady on the phone said that the other pizza was already ready and it was all ready to go?? I then said OK, replace the other pizza with hot piri piri chicken poppers, to which she said "OK we'll get it out to you". At 20:57 I called for an update. I was asked for all my details and was out on hold, then was told that I would get a call back. At 21.10 I got a call to reconfirm my order number and then was told they would call back. At 21.16 I got the call to say that my order had been cancelled, the tracker app was still on checking and cutting till 21.17 when I got an email saying it had been cancelled. I ordered for a collection and the website told me it would take 15 minutes. Upon my arrival, more than 15 minutes later, they hadn’t even started making it. This confused me as the tracker told me that it was ready. If you’re busy, don’t have a tracker that misleads Papa! I was offered a small drink, by this multi-million or possibly multi-billion dollar organisation, as compensation, which I refused. I suggested that they should’ve instantly offered to deliver the pizza, or refunded me, something of note to show that they are truly sorry. The guy just looked at me blankly. As a gauge Papa, we had a delivery from a local Indian takeaway (Spice Merchants) a couple of days ago. They forgot to put in our pickle tray and delivered it, plus poppadoms, plus a starter as compensation. That’s a small business who know how to treat...

My pizza took 85 minutes to arrive. I’ve never waited that long for a pizza delivery. And I’ve ordered a lot of pizza in my time. I eventually called to tell Papa John’s to forget about it and issue me a refund as it was getting so late. The attitude I got was basically a lot of shoulder shrugging and ‘oh we’re busy tonight. ‘ I ended up being passed to a joke of a manager who told me they are not able to issue refund but we could have a free pizza the following evening. No thanks mate….don’t really fancy papa John’s pizza 2 nights running. Just apologise properly by issuing my a refund. I won’t be ordering from them again and I suggest you don’t either.
